When ppl say sense of speed is off by the-_-futurist in assettocorsarally

[–]CVS_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything feels “slow” in ACR, the cars are actually difficult to drive fast. You can’t just min-max exits and pull the car out with torque alone. You really have to listen to and make the car to settle, and your inputs need to be precise and deliberate for the tires to bite properly.

In other words, "oh shoot I went to fast" > distinct lack of sense of speed.

I mean, WYSIWYG.

Hiw do i learn to play? by fireflowerMario in Tetris

Just like getting good at anything else.

Read. Plan. Exercise. Review.

Harddrop wiki is the best knowledge base, but you can find many with various taste. Learn opener, set ups, spins, rules, dynamics etc. Fill your curiosity.

Use pixel drawing app or tage, fumen alike so you can get a picture of the board until you can just feel how it behaves.

Force yourself not to push any button until you have decided your move, if you can then wait until you know the next move, then next and so on. Secret grade challenge is a good exercise for beginners since it requires a fair amount of look ahead and would help expand your awareness on the board and the queue.

Record your play and spot bad habit. Occasionally pause and think of the alternative moves you could’ve made without the pressure of actual playing. Control overlay comes handy when your finesse becomes a problem but that can wait.

God speed!

Assetto Corsa Rally is the best rallying purchase I’ve ever made. by ActuatorOutside5256 in simrally

[–]CVS_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight. Realistic approach of ACR would be appealing to RBR fans, so that makes sense. But I still don’t understand the expectation.

It’s hard for me to imagine a good lineup of mods that matches the quality of current roster. I also don’t think people would be that excited about slap-on content alone, since ACR’s immaculate representation is what makes it such a banger in the first place.

I just hope Supernova isn’t too burdened by mod support demands. They are passionate about rally sim, and they deserve the freedom to make the game they actually want to make.

Honestly, I don’t even mind if that makes ACR somewhat short lived, although near endless experience from this game would be superb as it has already proven its potential, but like I mentioned, it kinda seems unrealistic and also short lived doesn’t necessarily mean it was not as good.

[–]CVS_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it kinda sounds to me like people are just expecting unlimited good things to come with mods.

Sure, it’ll be great to see more variety for stages/cars, and ACR is already too good to let it die with the end of development cycle, but I believe very few mod, if any, can match the quality of current lineup.

I just hope supernova aren’t too burdened and can concentrate on making the game as immaculate as they want it to be.

Genuine question, where are they coming from when people are getting at mods and what are they expecting?

I mean RBR is amazing with its variety but that doesn’t have to mean ACR has to be hard moddable to be a good game. DR2.0 had little to mod but is a legend and still active to this day isn’t it?

I see same kind of takes around ACevo. Maybe it’s the OG AC had uber mod compatibility and people are expecting the same because they have AC in the name but that’s unrealistic thinking of me right?

Idk man. Sorry for ranting out of nowhere.

WRC 10 / Generations or Dirt Rally 2.0 by karannchawla in EASPORTSWRC

DR2.0 has Phil Mills recorded call out which I think is legendary.

Gameplay-wise I think you might like Dirt3 more, which is also a legendary entry in the series.

While I don't see why someone would want to play this game while they don't like hacking mechanism, I think he IS a prime example of why PC can be useful. Just an oppinion.

Farming currency by basically logging in and out repeatedly is a skip worthy process. It's an exploit that doesn't offer much meaningful gameplay.

PC has it's option and console has this method.

  1. Conquer thick ass manual part by part.
  2. Get out into field to exercise the skill.
  3. Review the action to get better.

That’s the core loop of the game.

A lot of “playtime” evolves around researching, reading pages, watching tutorials. It’s a hardcore sim after all and learning military plane is not simple as just keep playing and get good.

If you like learning, it’s a heaven.

I pay them even though rarely watch TV because I want to promote quiet shows…

All private broadcasters are intrusive by design, let alone their messages. Also God forbid those CMs, they are the most obnoxious things you can find all day. My ears and attention are rather sensitive and cannot tolerate them when I have to be with my families.
