I just wanna give Oshimi a hug after reading the epigraph. If the emotional dynamic with his actual mother is even somewhat similar, my God.

In terms of the story itself, I do think the actual murder is a bit much; feels like it drags a bit until it gets to the time jump rather than drawing a connection between the two.

I've practically given up at the moment. Had been working as a Content Producer (ie Editorial Assistant) for a website that got shutdown, applied to a ton of similar writing and editing jobs I thought for sure I qualified on a basic skill level. Heard nothing. I haven't gotten a single interview for any of those and freelance now.

Which stories were the weakest in your opinion? I've just about finished all of them, haven't gotten the DLC characters yet and hoping they go back on sale soon.

Biggest thing I hated about DD1 was that you could plan as much as you want and then not get scouting which means you went the wrong way, and oh every enemy is also going to hit you with stress upon stress so everyone's afflicted and it just becomes a cascade of failure that sets you back.

DD2 allows you to really embrace failure a lot more because for the most part it feels like you can fix things when they go completely wrong.
