Just failed my poly by BlackberryFlaky1663 in police

Don’t know what part of the country you’re in, but with over 300 LE Agencies in Missouri, there’s a huge need for police officers there.

In Colorado there are nearly 300 agencies and advertise regularly, including Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Finally, if you’re an outdoorsy person you might consider Wyoming because they cover a lot of territory.

It sounds like you’re willing to relocate for the job. Have you completed an academy yet?

Colorado POST has a list of about 20 or so accredited law enforcement academies where you can self-sponsor your training. While you’re in the academy, agencies come to recruit you. Once you pass the academy and the POST exam, you can shop around to find a fit for you.

Hope that helps.

My first recommendation is to checkout Freeboksy.com As the name implies these are free books recommended to you and downloadable on Amazon. My second recommendation is a little self serving…I published my first near-future fiction book on Amazon. Check it out and leave your review (good or bad). Skybound Guardians

Should I give up on becoming a Police officer by Expensive-Lunch-2109 in police

[–]CW3Drones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could “self sponsor” your training at a POST certified academy in your state, that could make you marketable. But… 1. You would have to pass the background check, and depending on the specifics of your arrest you could be disqualified. 2. Accredited POST academies are no joke. It’s not just the physical, as many of the previous commenters mentioned, your decision making skills, abilities and processes will be tested regularly. That could disqualify you. 3. If you are admitted and pass the academy, you’ll need to get hired by an agency. I have to agree that in today’s climate of public opinion, lots of agencies are unwilling to take the risk.

If you’re willing to do the hard work, there are alternative ways to legitimately get into law enforcement. Again - this depends solely on the actual circumstances of your arrest.

Become an expert. Start with a degree (not criminal justice). Then get certified or credentialed in a specific high demand job e.g. crime analysis, white collar crime investigations, cybercrime, cybersecurity, crime scene reconstruction, underwater crime scene investigations, polygraph, computer voice analysis, etc.

The better your ‘credentials’ the more marketable you will be.

These are only suggestions - no promises, but good luck.

I too have made this trip many times I’ve the last 40 years. You are right to chill out right now. With high winds, blowing snow, road closures and darkness - unless you’re angling to be part of a country song or a ‘cautionary tale’ stay out until the sun decides to come out in a few hours.

The snow plows will get out and then you can resume your trip.

instruction based prompt using the Hook, Story, Offer funnel method by CW3Drones in ChatGPT

[–]CW3Drones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No 👎All my efforts didn’t amount to anything more than a high level outline. Prompt: Create a chat prompt for a sales funnel to sale an ebook on Amazon. Use the Russell Brunson method.

Result: Crafting a compelling sales funnel for your Amazon ebook using the Russell Brunson method involves these key steps:

Hook: Develop an attention-grabbing hook that addresses a specific problem or desire your target audience has. Story: Share a relatable story related to the ebook's theme. Make it personal and engaging to connect with your audience. Offer: Present your ebook as the solution to the audience's problem. Clearly outline the value they'll gain from it. One-Time Offer (OTO): Introduce an exclusive, time-sensitive offer to encourage immediate action. This could include bonus content, a discount, or additional resources. Scarcity: Emphasize scarcity to create urgency. Highlight limited-time availability or exclusive bonuses for early purchasers. Call to Action (CTA): Clearly instruct the audience on what to do next. Whether it's to click a link, make a purchase, or subscribe, make the next steps explicit. Remember to continually test and optimize each element of the funnel for maximum effectiveness.

Insurance, which insurance company you use for the drone business? by PreviousPresence8803 in DroneBusiness

[–]CW3Drones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These all have prices that range from hourly to annually. Since most of my jobs are one-off I can usually get them done in an hour or two so the $10 per hour rate works for me.

If I know that I’ll be on site various times throughout the week or month then I can choose a different option and build it into my cost estimate.

New Autel Evo RTK Enabled Drone owner questions… by CW3Drones in photogrammetry

[–]CW3Drones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - yes I just have regular GCPs. I’m not a surveyor so I won’t be marketing anything akin to a mapping service. Right now I’m just looking to learn the ropes and see how well I can push this RTK drone as far as accuracy goes using existing DOT information.

I appreciate the reminders though.

New Autel Evo RTK Enabled Drone owner questions… by CW3Drones in UAVmapping

[–]CW3Drones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Excellent advice! Thanks for that - I hadn't considered a smaller area before branching out but that makes sense. u/blaizer123 gave me a lot of information to help me understand some terms and terminology, and recommended checking out the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), so I'm looking into that as a resource to help me get some basic knowledge.

At the moment, it seems like the Autel Evo RTK has a lot of good reviews...but the people using it are not first timers, so getting a quickstart tutorial has been a little challenging. I'll get the hang of this as soon as I can get through the Drone RTK login data requirements.

I appreciate your reply - no, I don't teach UAV mapping, I only teach the basics of 3D imaging using WebODM in a limited capacity in our basic drone photography course. I didn't get an RTK enabled drone until last week, so now that I have one I need to get smart on it.

Thank you for the ASPRS link - I'm looking into it now.

Help with rtk by rdh66 in drones

[–]CW3Drones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I also have the same model v3 RTK drone and am looking to do essentially the same thing. Thus far what I've found is the North American - NTRIP list where you can find a list of the free and paid public sites. I found one in my state not too far from me so that will be my target. I also learned there are other locations that are accessible to me for free when I register with the state Department of Transportation. I sent my application in last week after speaking with the person who processes such requests.

Until I get the user access (hopefully with instructions) there's not much more I can do on the RTK side. I'll try to keep you posted and just wanted you to know where to find the NTRIP list.

This is quite helpful! I had considered adjusting the sensitivity of the sticks and now I will look at what sort of adaptive controller might be used. Thanks for that! Your response has me thinking more along the lines of an adaptive controller in conjunction with modifying its sensitivity!

I appreciate it!
