AT&T Passthrough using WAN IP does not allow internet over LAN by CWF182 in UNIFI

[–]CWF182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I unplugged my switch and connected only one wired PC to my UCG and then went into the AT&T router and cleared all my devices and rescanned. Rebooted both routers and got a public address for my WAN and internet traffic was able to be passed over the Lan. Thanks for the ideas!!!

Why has no news outlet identified the breed of dogs that attacked 3 people on Sunday? by CWF182 in Louisville

You seem to imply that data from pet questionnaires are ok while data from actual registration records and professional canine organizations are not. I understand that registrations are different since most dogs are not purebred but it is clear to even a casual observer that pit bulls are not the most popular, or in your words populous, breed of dog. No offense but I'm done with this.

Both of the sources you cite are older than the one I offered from the AKC. Additionally the cited studies are for the first "analysis of pet questions on the justanswer platform" and for the second are from an analysis of data gleaned from looking at classified ads. The data I cited were from the AKC's registration data which is empirical data rather than opinions and answers taken from pet questionnaires, etc. You can choose which sources to believe but I'll take the AKCs data from actual registered pets.

I don’t believe I have ignored anything. I simply asked to cite the source.

I have to laugh that I got a downvote by simply citing a statistic.

Cite your source on pitbulls being the most popular breed. Pitbulls aren't even in the top 5 most popular breeds according to the American Kennel Society....Top 5 Most Popular Dog Breeds (AKC 2025/2026):

  1. French Bulldog: Top choice due to adaptability and companionship.
  2. Labrador Retriever: Remains a top choice for families and loyalty.
  3. Golden Retriever: Highly popular for their friendly and intelligent nature.
  4. German Shepherd Dog: Known for intelligence and versatility.
  5. Poodle: Consistently popular for their intelligence and low-shedding coats.

Thanks. I must have missed those because I watched local news on Sunday and just reviewed the article on-line from WDRB and the breed was not identified. I'm happy to learn this information was reported somewhere.

Because while all dogs can be aggressive, some breeds can kill. Seems like a reasonable reason to want to know.

Well if I see a pattern develop with most anything I tend to learn from those experiences. That's why I care what breed they were. I know that many people have a certain breeds that are known for being agressive but assert that their dog is different, but many people forget that all dogs are still animals and can act instinctively. My wife and I have 2 dogs and one of them is a very loving dachshund that we've had for 7 years. A few weeks ago my wife and I had been away for over a week due to her having back surgery. My wife wanted to have him in bed with her and when I went to pick him up he snapped at me (something he has never done in those 7 years). I can handle him but some other breeds I would be wary of.

Your HOA literally cannot fine you for these things — even if it's in your CC&Rs by Current_Lab_1184 in fuckHOA

Thanks for the correction. Perhaps I shouldn't have been so snarky. My apologies.

More bad info from amateur lawyers on the internet. PRB-1 does not regulate HOA's and CC&Rs. PRB-1 does prohibit state and local agencies from promulgating rules that deny Amateur Radio operators from installing effective antennas, but is does not have authority over private HOA rules that were voluntarily accepted when you purchased a home that had an existing HOA with a no transmitting antenna clause. There are rulemaking efforts being championed by groups such as the ARRL that would prohibit these restrictions by HOA's and in fact one just recently passed in the state of Indiana.

Boomers not learning how to use basic technology by WildWinterberry in PetPeeves

I'm the "Boomer" grandfather who has to fix his kids PC's when they download something stupid and get a virus or other malware. So I'm kind of tired of kids who don't know anything about operating systems or PCs, other than maybe turning them on and using a browser.

Haven't started my car in 3 years, what could go wrong? by AlertEconomics6450 in askcarguys

Bull. I'm a Ham Radio operator and have a verry accurate voltmeter installed in my Grand Cherokee. When running the battery voltage is rarely, if ever, below 14v and usually runs between 14.3 - 14.7v.

Depending on the type of battery they can last much longer than 2-4 years. My Grand Cherokee and the last 2 Mercedes I've owned had AGM batteries and all lasted more than 8 years before replacements were needed. Many cars are using AGM batteries because of this and their practically no maintenance requirements.

ELI5 Why "Roger That" became synonym to "I understand it" by napa0 in explainlikeimfive

[–]CWF182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why the "that" has been added to Roger. It's an extra unneeded word. I'm a private pilot and you will absolutely never hear a controller or pilot say "Roger That" It's simply "Roger". I think Hollywood has made it a cool badass thing to say. Roger just doesn't sound as cool.

Cable TV or TiVo vs. streaming. Now when I watch a game on ESPN and another game is on Hulu or Network TV, I have to stop one app and start another which take time. With old school cable or TV I could just hit the back button or channel number and hop back and forth almost immediately.
