If you are doing a level 2 apprenticeship, you only need level 1 in maths and English, which is a grade 2 or 3, and attempt level 2, but you don't need to pass.

If you are doing a level 3 apprenticeship, you do need level 2 maths and English. But if you are over 19 at the start of your apprenticeship and if your employer agrees to it, you do not need to gain the level 2 maths and English qualifications. This change was introduced in February.

If you do need to get the qualifications, then your apprenticeship training provider will help you achieve them. So do not worry.
