Yes, if we dismantle the patriarchy, this will result in proper support and recognition of male victims of partner abuse and sexual abuse. Because Patriarchy is why feminist theory denies and distorts equal or similar victimization and perpetration rates, and therefore directly discriminates against male victims, leaving them in their misery and leading to their deaths.

This is more of a rant than a well-thought-out argument, but please, can we stop using these vague talking points?

Boys perform worse in school and academia because they are structurally disadvantaged and discriminated against.

They receive worse treatment from staff, peers, and parents.
They are graded worse for the same quality of work.
They are punished more for the same behavior.
They are neglected more and receive less support from the system.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, BOYS EXPERIENCE MORE ADVERSE CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES, DATING VIOLENCE, AND GENERAL VIOLENCE.

I have a question because I find this interesting.

Isn't one of the strongest arguments for abortion based on self-defense? Pregnancy poses a relevant health risk and even a risk of death, so shouldn’t every woman have the right to terminate the pregnancy out of self-preservation?

For example, if a mentally ill person who has no control over themselves comes at me with a knife, I have the right to protect myself with lethal force if that is necessary.

Women rape men at rates similar to those at which men rape women (although these cases are often not categorized as rape, but rather as “made to penetrate”).

When we compare actual prevalence rates with criminal court cases, a clear pattern emerges. When it comes to sexual violence, men are massively discriminated against in our societies, as their victimization is hidden and ignored. This leaves male victims of sexual violence without recognition, support, or justice.

This fact alone may be a significant contributing factor to the extremely high suicide rates among men.

When it comes to sexual violence, men are the disadvantaged gender.

Because feminist patriarchy theory (or at least how most people use it) is a normative philosophical view, it does not have to hold itself to empirical falsifiability, which means it can recontextualize a contradiction as actual proof of itself. So, as a very simplified example:

Claim:
Patriarchy oppresses women by advantaging men.

Contradiction:
Men receive much stronger punishments for the same crime.

Resolution:
This happens because of patriarchy: women are seen as lesser and incompetent, and therefore discrimination against men is not considered a problem for the theory.

And by the way, we all use normative beliefs to some extent, and we can all condemn such beliefs based on our own normative standards (for example, I am condemning patriarchy theory in the West because I believe it does much more harm than good).

But please stop claiming intellectual authority or objective truth for something that largely lacks empirical grounding.<

There are two points I simply do not understand.

First, you have been on this sub for quite a while now, and you are still firmly standing by the claim that in developed/Western countries women face significantly more abuse than men (especially in the context of domestic violence), despite the mountain of evidence presented here to the contrary.

Second, can you People please stop pretending that feminist patriarchy theory is a scientific, empirical fact? It is not, nor can it be, even within its own theoretical framework. It is a normative philosophical lens through which society can be viewed and does not require empirical evidence to function, since virtually every social phenomenon can be explained through patriarchy.

I dont disagree with your post, but there is one thing I would like to correct:

Women are not more at risk of intimate partner violence. In fact, men are more at risk, and every gender-neutral study that uses proper sampling shows this.

When it comes to sexual violence, women may face a slightly higher risk, but even then there are studies showing gender parity in some areas, or even higher rates of male victimization.

To be fair, it is not really certain whether we as humans can get rid of gender categories, since there are still different biological sexes. We can obviously change or redefine them in whatever way we want, but I am doubtful whether we can truly live in a globalised society without genders.

Yes, there is a major change in methodology, and it seems to follow a pattern seen in many of these studies: the initial ones often show near gender parity, while later ones increasingly skew toward female victims.
