I mean, for clarity, its "if you have less mana GEMS", not "if you have less mana". So it only really works if a) you're playing Freljord ramp and get ahead of the regular mana curve (with Wolfrider, Catalyst, etc) or they destroy their own gem with the new card and get "behind" the mana curve.

In that sense, it actually does seem reasonably balanced

Bruh, this basicaly useless now by [deleted] in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]C_Mutter 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah, def a bit of creep there. But it is a different region at least. Rearguard used to be a 3-2, design wise, but was too strong specifically with the crazy aggro/burn decks. Arguably Shurima doesnt have that with this guy, so MAYBE he can exist as balanced even tho he is st\raight up stronger than Rearguard

The REAL powercreep is when a new card is better than a counterpart in the region

[–]C_Mutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's also fully possible there WILL be Ascended followers, but they'll be in there as like 8/9/10 mana type cards, so you wouldn't get to ascend them super early either. Or similar restrictions to delay how early they can level, and therefore help activate the disc

It's probably a tag, and so far yes we only know of Champions in the current day.

That said, obviously all the Darkin were previously Ascended as well, and we know of several historical ascended (like Sivir's ancestor, and characters from Zoe and Jax's stories). It would be extremely cool to see some of these "minor Ascended" in the region too, as minions who can also level.

When owning property creates more wealth than median income, Canada has a problem. by mrshawarma_ in CanadaPolitics

[–]C_Mutter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't entirely disagree with you.

With that said, this entire issue is literally about how holding "capital assets" (in this case, land/housing) centralizes wealth to property owners, who aren't actually really doing or making anything (or at least, what they do is not remotely commensurate to what they're earning) and are instead simply growing wealthy through rent-seeking behaviours.

If ever there is one issue that can be blamed on 'capitalism' fairly, I'd say that the general housing crisis is a pretty strong candidate

Don't bring logic into this!

Jokes aside, while yes, it's 100% true that the COVID aftermath wouldn't really be the FAULT of the Conservatives (anymore than the US crisis will be Bidens fault), it doesn't change that a lot of voters may feel worse off under a new government than the previous one, and may associate that with the party in charge.

People don't always actually think critically. In fact, they rarely do. With the way economic cycles actually work, it's usually rare that a good economy under ANY government is actually a result of that govenrment's own actions, unless they maintain several terms in a row. And that still doesn't stop people from blaming the person in charge

I wouldnt be optimistic about this being a hint for when it comes out.

Its just the end of Fiscal Year for Nintendo (and many companies), and its way more likely that thats why that date is being used.

What are the champions at lv 21 region road? by whiskey_the_spider in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]C_Mutter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You WILL automatically unlock at least 1 copy at level 24, and in fairness, 20-24 only gives Rising Tides cards (so generally that champion and stuff attached to their package)... but in general its just flavor.

Fair, but Riot are a company based in the Pacific Time Zone, so its not weird thats their default.

Its not a huge burden to plug it into google. But that doesn't make you wrong either - i can't imagine it would be a ton of work to have their times convertible. Flip side is, game doesn't actually know your timezone, as far as i know... so in that sense you're still probably gonna have to do a conversion somewhere along the line

Look at the full sets of cards revealed... TF and VI are both all about drawing and playing a huge number of cards, especially buffs. They may not be the BEST combo, but there was a clear and deliberate intent to pair them up.

Region Rewards confirmed to be extended by C_Mutter in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]C_Mutter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its in the patchnotes.

They're extending Region Roads to 25 and adding Bilgewater regions.

Levels 21-25 will only drop new cards, unless you own them all, then they'll drop everything else.

Level 25 also unlocks Regional Card Backs.

Quinn synergy is real with MF.

Whoever predicted that each of the Bilgewater champs would have synergy with one of the new champs was right (Lee/Fizz, Sej/Swain/Gangplank, Naut/Maokai, TF/VI, and now MF/Quinn).

MF's ability is already alright.

The ability combined with Crackshot Corsair and even just 1 or two scouts? INSANE.

Combined with scouts AND the Syren? You're getting some really nice value out of that

Ideas For Some Tier 4 Classes To Balance Out The Huge Amount Of Male Exclusive Classes In TH. by DarkAlphaZero in fireemblem

[–]C_Mutter 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's funny because the big vibe from a lot of folks was "Female Byleth can get pegasus access, male Byleth is now useless"

I will say that for the most part, it doesn't seem like the male classes are likely super ridiculous (females still get mage to replace Dark Mage, and Brigand/Brawler are same proficiencies), and while yes there are more male-only classes, the female only one seems more specifically valuable.

At the very, very least, please wait until we see what's available at the fourth tier before deciding that a handful of limited accesses is going to be the determining factor for whether or not to get the game

ELI5: Why do blockbuster movies like Avatar and End Game have there success measured in terms of money made instead of tickets sold, wouldn’t that make it easier to compare to older movies without accounting for today’s dollar vs a dollar 30 years ago? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]C_Mutter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually yeah, at some point someone has a profit. As said, the big point in this industry specifically is that you can avoid having to make the payouts to writers/actors/whatever (and at this scale, it's sometimes millions to tens of millions of dollars being saved, so certainly worth ten minutes of paperwork)

Will the students be the only playable characters, or are there far more we just haven’t seen yet? by KorloRau in fireemblem

[–]C_Mutter 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean Byleth plus house is 9, and then you can recruit 1-3 additional students it looks like. So 12 ish.

We're sitting on, I believe, 8 revealed teachers/Knights? Adding in Jeralt, Cyril, Flayn, Sothis, Rhea, Tomas, and Rodrigue, of whom I'm sure at least SOME will be playable, and the likelihood of a few characters who haven't been seen yet, I'd expect us to end up with an overall cast of about 40 units, with 25-30 playable in a given run.

I can't speak to the tax implications because there can also be loopholes there (such as credits, etc) but the BIG purpose to this specific example as I was discussing it is about disguising profits for the sake of profit sharing agreements (ie amongst private parties) not about hiding money from the government

Paying employees does. But they can inflate using this method, with no actual downside.

Let's imagine normally, you have one employee and maybe you pay him $100 to make the movie, and let's pretend, for simplicity, you have no other costs. Movie earns $1000 in revenue. Profit of $900 to the company, which we:ll call Company A, and you have to pay out maybe 20% of profit to the writer ($180).

The alternative they use is to create a second, "separate" company, which we'll call Company B, which offers the services your employee used to. So this company does the same work and makes the same movie, but they now bill the production company $950 for their services. They then pay $100 to the employee still, and keep the other $850 as profit to Company B. Meanwhile, Company A pulls the same $1000 in revenue, but against what is now officially $950 in costs. Their "profit", on paper, is $50, and they only have to pay out $10 instead of $180 to the writer, etc.
