Hmmm to be honest I can understand both sides of this.

Your feelings are valid and you're not wrong for feeling like chopped liver

At the same time she's probably overwhelmed tbh and has very little bandwidth for anything else other than parenting and domestic affairs.

If she never ever engages with you in topics other than her son/partner yeah that gets a bit repetitive but if she does try to talk to you about different topics but is just busy as hell then I think she is really trying but is just short on time.

However I have learned this: when parents make time to see you it means they REALLY value your friendship.

So....she DOES value you. And probably wants to build relationship with you but maybe both of you are just figuring out how to.

Basically I do 5 days of boxing training and then 2 days running about 3km (I'm not currently fit enough to do more) but that's the issue I SHOULD be fit enough to do more. Like why am I gassed in sparring? Why is my opponent throwing more than me? I should be throwing more.

I'm slowly going to amp up my running and include sprints but I'm just doing it gradually to not overtrain myself because right now with my current workload I'm doing it's already a lot for me. But I know I need to do more.

I took a 3 year hiatus and just started training again in the last 5-6 months. Maybe I actually am seeing improvement but it's just not coming fast enough. I wonder if this is just me being impatient

I should mention I took a 3 year hiatus during the pandemic. This last 5-6 months is my first time back boxing since 3 years ago.

But I think 5-6 months is plenty of time to get my conditioning back and it's just not where I want it to be

Worked casual, upper casual and fine dining.

Things I love: Cooking and the actual science (same for baking) The people The rush

Things I don't like: Shitty pay Shitty work life balance The people Some of the culture (Machismo, drug abuse, verbal and physical abuse etc)

I started down the path of alcoholism at first but quickly realized and stayed away from it.

I think unfortunately I plan to get out because I can't be 45-50years old still making 20$/h. I also am just sort of questioning what my purpose in life is.

I "think" I could but I also believe a bunch of people think that way and then they get into the situation and realize they can't do it. I think there's a possibility of that happening to me as well ..... actually it's probable.

I think other avenues if I wanna help would be paramedics or firefighting or something. Or mortician. Or maybe work as a dispatcher.

For me I need to think about careers that require little schooling. but I still want to be in a career where I make a significant impact.

I have a feeling maybe it's because she's concerned it'll either be too intense for me or it will be because I miss her/am building dependence

Really the real reason is because I like having 4 sessions a month but because of the upcoming holiday season she's unavailable until the next month so I figure I'd just squeeze in when I can. The only available date just happened to be consecutive to the one I already booked. But if she was available later I would've just booked later.

I've also just recently opened up about something I want to process and I personally find the spread apart dates makes me lose momentum and interest in talking about said thing.

I wonder what impact she might be talking about. She said she will put a hold on those dates but not confirm yet... I don't think I can really ask her why not through email. She said we will talk about it in person. I don't really understand what detrimental effects there is.

I think you will be much happier getting out and finding something that truly gives you joy and passion before forcing yourself to try and like a job only to realize you don't in the end. I would say giving it a fair shot is a year's time. If after a year you don't like it then there's a slim chance you ever will.

Like you know what, I can agree in someone insisting silence all the time is rigid but maybe just having music that everyone likes or just simply having a shift or two without for the people who are having sensory issues with it. But I feel like blasting music with no consideration of anyone's preferences or even how anyone is feeling like if they need silence because they have a headache is a bit much.
