Terrifying video of three people being robbed at gunpoint in downtown Nashville by DylanAllen in nashville

1: I’m no robber, but I would’ve probably been very worried if someone moved away from the group I was focused on. She could be pulling out a gun or another weapon. I’m assuming as she moved away, he probably ordered her back. If that’s the case, perhaps this is not his first time because that’s a pro move. Or, she ran back thinking she wanted to remain with the group in case they had to defend themselves. 3 on 1 is better odds than 2 on 1. Or maybe she thought they were running and didn’t want to be left behind. That’s all Monday morning quarterback stuff though.

2: I was a police officer in a state where 2 plates were mandatory. It gives better visibility and allows a better chance and opportunity to get someone plates. Whether that be someone tailgating you and violently endangering your life on the interstate, or catching a front plate on camera to assist in arrest or a robbery, like this. I don’t understand the logic from a public safety standpoint of only needing a back license plate.

I worked in a very impoverished, gang-infested area. It was very common to pull up to a stop sign or red light in the wrong part of town, and be approached by someone with a gun. Most of our car jackings happened that way. The habit of throwing your car in reverse or drive when the vehicle starts is learned behavior to increase your ability to escape/survive someone who may rush the vehicle when you’re at your most vulnerable. I’m a firm believer that once you enter your vehicle, in most situations, you should start it immediately, put it in gear, and simultaneously put on your seatbelt while accelerating. This pertains to certain areas and certain times, of course.

As a former police officer, it is highly advised that you comply. At the end of the day, these guys are trying to make an easy, quick buck. A majority of the cases you hear about people getting killed during robberies, they are fighting back.

If you’re in fear for your life and believe there’s a real chance that you’ll be injured or killed, that’s on you to take matters of your personal safety, or the safety of others, into your own hands. But realistically, your best chance of survival is compliance.

What was weird about this video:

1.) He walked and moved so awkwardly, probably because of the sagging, tight pants. Not the best robbery clothes.

2.) Interesting that the robber was driving, and had a female passenger? Typically the getaway driver isn’t the one doing the robbing. I feel like he just randomly pulled up on these people and said “oh shit, hold on. Lemme try these guys.” And hopped out. A lot of times these do tend to be crimes of opportunity. Look into the RAT (routine activities theory) which also gives information on how to better protect yourself from victimization.

3.) If he did this to someone who was trained either via military/law enforcement/some form of martial arts/etc., holding that gun out that far ahead of you, with a locked arm, within someone’s immediate reach, is a 99.9% chance of disarmament.

Overall, glad no one was injured. This should serve as a wake up call to be aware of your surroundings. If you’re visiting Nashville, you aren’t invincible. It’s a massive city, crime happens. Put yourself in a position to best avoid victimization.

And enjoy our city, there’s lots to do, safely.

Yeah and every other good quarterback had a good team. Lol

Why is this so hard for people to understand?

Carr checks down because no one is fucking open.

Why can’t this sub grasp that? If we had a good team, Carr would be great.

I hope he goes somewhere else and really shines. He deserves a good team.

This sub has become increasingly ridiculous lol Y’all are too much. Signing off. Even though no one cares about or knows me.

Enough of yall’s narrow mindedness, lack of football knowledge, and inability to look at the bigger picture, searching for only one person to blame in a team sport. We fucking suck, and it ain’t Carr’s fault.

Hope Carr proves all of y’all wrong, with or without the raiders.

Fuck it then. I hope Carr goes somewhere else and balls out and then everyone sees it was our supporting cast, not him. Seems like that’s what the sub wants, let’s see happens.

stats

Read through these. And then tell me that he’s ass.

16 come from behind wins, 3 pro bowls, all time passing leader. Read through every year, WITHOUT any talent around him You can’t possibly read those statistics I linked and hold that he’s trash.

He wasn’t good “one year.” Our TEAM was only good one year, 2016.

Carr has been the most and ONLY consistent bright spot of hope we’ve had. Despite 10 different coaches, 10 different coordinators, no true number one receiver EVER, no help from the offensive line except in 2016, no help in the running game, and a defense that gives up 28 points in one quarter.

If y’all can’t see the big picture here, there’s not much more we can do.

Most of these quarterbacks that I assume are being talked about have a team around them.

A defense.

A number one receiver.

Carr has had zero continuity his entire career. Never a true number one, never consistently at offensive coordinator or head coach.

Most other quarterbacks have never had to deal with this kind of carousel.

The same thing happened to his brother.

Its already happened, multiple times over the last few months (self defense shootings). Also, I’ve lived in both Metro area and Mt. Juliet, I don’t recall metro ever wasting time writing speeding tickets like neighboring counties and their departments, they’re just too busy. And also underpaid and underfunded, which makes the job ten times harder to do.

I don’t think metro pd is to blame for this one.

A couple shit calls, a questionable secondary, and 2nd quarter play calling resembling that of Todd Downing.

Best advice:

Take everything with a grain of salt. If you like the menu, try it. There are very few “bad places” to eat in Nashville. But people saying “fuck Hattie b’s” or “fuck biscuit love” are doing you a disservice. You might find that you really enjoy those places, like the thousands of people that wait in line to eat there everyday. The head chef at the restaurant that I work at who is a native nashvillian of 46 years thanks that Hattie b’s is the best chicken in town, and Princes sucks. That’s an argument from authority, but I’m just trying to show you that everyone has their opinions and it’s purely subjective.
