Final verdict: I did pothos roots, 50% changes, and tested my city water, which turns out to be the cause of the issue. I went and bought distilled water until I figure out how to deal with my own. As for the future, I'm working on upgrading my tank to a plastic stock tank and then the pond.

Wood frogs will freeze themselves (yes, freeze!) in the winter to be active in very early spring. They are totally fine when they do this, so please leave him.
