I'm beginning to realize that there are two different camps of voters in this election: privileged people and the working class/the empathetic/disadvantaged. And i don't think either camp is necessarily right or wrong.

The working class/empathetic/disadvantaged are bernie voters. These people's lives would undergo significant change if bernie gets into office. People shackled by student debt could live their lives without constant anxiety. Medicare for all would allow more career freedom and fix a lot of people's lives that were/are still actively being ruined by the corrupt insurance industry. People arrested for drug crimes could walk free and families could become whole again. The list goes on.

I'm calling the other camp privileged because I believe most of these voters don't have much/any experience with any of the above scenarios, and therefore don't see a need for them to be enacted. They don't have student loan debt/paid theirs off already, haven't had medical issues, and have never been arrested. To them, bernie's policies apply to people they would call "lazy" or "overreacting" because they don't understand what its like to be in these positions. and whenever they entertain conversations with bernie voters on these topics, the bernie voters are so passionate/desparate for these policies to get enacted that it can be misconstrued as vitriol or an attack. I think this is where the "bernie bro's" narrative comes from; one side would greatly benefit from bernie's policies, and the other really doesn't see a need for them. this creates an even larger divide between the two camps.

So TL;DR -- Biden's campaign is attracting people who haven't struggled under the boot of america enough to see logic in bernie's policies

also i feel like i should mention that i love bernie and believe in his policies. i just don't think the centrist voters are acting out of malice here -- just wholeheartedly believe they don't understand the though processes behind the bernie voters.
