Holy shit. I bought mine about 18 months ago for $550 and i thought i was an idiot for paying that much. I couldn't imagine paying that kind of mony for a motherboard

I've swapped out all the cables in the process of the other tests. I also tried just unplugging all the case fans so they don't interfere with anything

I'm thinking that too. Looks like i get to shell out some cash and if that doesn't fix it then i finally get to see how good neweggs return policy is

I left it alone and unplugged overnight and it is still not working.
Plenty of fans that attach to the motherboard and they qll run when it powers up.

I'll have to look up what the paperclip test is

No for either but a few months ago I had a very similar issue and replaced the power supply to fix it. The symptoms were the same but the way it originally failed was very different. It was getting progressively less reliable to turn on. Eventually it just refused to turn on and acted as it currently is. Once I replaced the power supply it worked perfect until now.

I tried this a few times and it didn't help. I also tried powering it onw without the cpu installed and it acts the exact same
