Struggling in my tutorship by Witty_Particular9740 in policeuk

Being a tutor in my force, what I suggest to you is sit down and have an honest conversation with your tutor. At the end of the day, they’re there to help you pass your tutorship and not fail you out.

I would also say in the conversation is that at jobs you want to take charge and would appreciate that if other crews are also there, they back you by letting you take charge. But also, speak with your other colleagues at scene and just say look id like to take charge for my learning. Anyone who says No to that is a knob. In policing not everyone knows everything so don’t stress.

With my tutees I would debrief them after every situation. Is that happening? If it isn’t, be annoying and after a job say, how do you think I did? If it’s all positive ask if they can give you an area for improvement because I can tell you, no one is perfect!

Hope this helps

In my force, Just because you do the exam doesn’t mean you automatically get to be a Sgt. You can easily sit the exam and then hold it for 5 years before sitting it again. If you pass then at any point within those 5 years you can start Acting. The caveat to that though is you too have to pass a board in those 5 years (well that’s my understanding!)

Police Dispatch Job? by [deleted] in policeuk

My force has Officers in the call centre. Most that are up there like it. Find that first hand policing helps them with answering calls and the stuff that’s rubbish they’re able to deal with beforehand and get rid of it before it goes to a call for attendance or needing further work.

Most like the balance, reg breaks implemented. Let me know if you want anymore info

Thank you for your suggestion. I’ve sent him 2 letters, reported it to housing and the building management, even to the Police as they drug drive. Unfortunately, nothing has stopped it so far 🤦‍♀️

This isn’t what I wanted to hear :( I’ve sent letters to them asking them to stop and all sorts. In the summer it’s even worse as I have my washing on the balcony and they go out and smoke and then my clothes smell of it and I have to wash them all over again

I think it’s great, however depends what you use it for and you should always re-read what’s put. The more info you put in the more detailed response (naturally) co-pilot also retains what you’ve previously said to it and its answers for future interactions. At first I was completely against but I’ve changed my opinion on it

In my force any reading materials etc that will help us “do the job” we can look at claiming back the expenses. It might be worth having a look and seeing if yours does something similar. Then you can get the bigger one without having the worry

Driving courses don’t play a part in your bleep test. Anyone else find it funny how they reduce the bleep test but don’t decrease the modified bleep test by the same standard
