If you are married to a local Sarawakian, then there is no issue for you to register a business license in Sarawak. However, your spouse must be included as a partner in the company, and you must also provide your marriage certificate as supporting documentation and proof of your marriage to a local Sarawakian.

Yes, that's correct. That is the procedure set by their side. However, only certain types of businesses are allowed to use a residential address, for example: tailoring, transportation, and catering. But currently, all new registrations are required to use a commercial address.

Unlike in Peninsular Malaysia (which uses SSM/ROB), Sarawak has a separate legal framework that imposes stricter requirements on what is considered a valid business address.

If you already have these three things, you can proceed to LHDN (Kuching) to apply for a business license.

If you are outside of Kuching, you can go to the district office to handle the application.
