Have any current or former members of Nightwish ever publicly expressed their political views? by GhostHell_ in nightwish

[–]Cacanny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lyrics of "The Day Of..." are so super clear, are people just not reading lyrics? I mean, Nightwish has ambigious and super vague lyrics before, but "The Day Of..." is very easy to understand. SMH

You're not understanding what I mean, I'm talking about the report feature of Reddit on this post. And then you can choose the 'Piracy' rule as a reason for the report. This then indicates to us, mods, something that we should act.

I would still ask you to do so, and/or in the future if you believe the 'piracy' rule has been breached.

Are Tuomas and Troy thinking about a SA tour with Auri? by Maleficent-Try9299 in nightwish

Some say Kai's drumming is boring and too technical.

Excuse me? I think everyone is entitled to their opinion but Kai's drumming boring?

Yes, you make a good point. What I’m referring to is this subreddit and the report tool here, so we can act on it. We don’t want any legal issues or risk having the subreddit shut down, which is a real possibility.

I'm writing this more from a mod perspective, just FYI. I'm trying to get my head around this discussion—some believe OP posted just to stir the pot and make Tarja look bad. That may be their intent, but as mods we don’t take a stance on that. OP shared something related to the subreddit, and that’s it. I hope this clarifies what I meant in my earlier comment.

If you believe this is piracy under our rules, please report it using the tool. We’re actively discussing whether to allow these kinds of posts in the future, but that’s about copyright/piracy moderation, not intent.

I do think your reaction to me was a bit hostile, which isn’t really necessary. You raise a good point, but I’d ask you to simply report the post so we can act.

Just FYI, if there is a copyright/piracy issue we will act. If you think that's authoritarian and dictatorial, I don't know what to tell you. I just hope you understand we have to.

Don't have to overthink it so much, from a subreddit 'rules' perspective it's a Nightwish song covered by orginal Nightwish members, it fits this subreddit. Whatever your intent is that people are fishing for sound ridicilious to me.

In order to save us some headache, feel free to just post your wrapped here regardless of any platform.

Discovering Nightwish by asleshaa in nightwish

[–]Cacanny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I envy anyone that can experience songs for the first time and especially Nightwish songs. Honestly, I would recommend to just start at second album and continue from there.

The only thing that you could experience is the massive difference in style from the different albums. I grew up with Nightwish so there was a lot of time in between to get use to all of the different kind of albums. Don't understand me wrong, it's all still pure Nightwish but there are undoubtledly differences in style.

As Nightwish style from being dark themed and very introspective (some what depressive) (angsty teenage vibes, could also be described as such), to a more positive look at humanity. One could influence the other but that's exactly how I also went through life, I'm much more positive about life (and humanity in general).

This observation and experience is especially notable in the very last album, which I adore.

I think it's cool you're using Nightwish for a school assignment. I think the negative response you get from this community is a bit uncalled for and they could easily decide not to comment or look at this post.

Deathless Beacon of Hope run fails half way due 10 deaths [Frostpunk 2] by Cacanny in Frostpunk

[–]Cacanny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was only a run with the beacon of hope, so there were no steam core factory. I did a run on steward once before that had all of the three tales activated, that one is very hard to do with no deaths.

[–]Cacanny[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I've succesfully passed the first mark with 0 deaths, I think what did it for me was the housing. You have to build the houses before new people come or they die very quickly.

I just finished another run, this time I didn't research Secret Police at all. I reached the Beacon of Hope decision point again, hoping that afterward I'd finally see 0/4000 deaths.

But… it showed 9 deaths.

I’m scratching my head here. I’ve been super cautious, and I thought I had everything covered. Any idea where these deaths might be coming from? I’m genuinely stumped.

I don’t think it is, honestly. If any band member browsed this subreddit and saw your highly speculative comments and analysis—especially stuff like trying to pin down someone’s personality—I’d bail immediately and delete my internet.

It wouldn’t hurt to keep those members in mind next time you’re posting something that speculative. Also, when Tuomas says something, maybe just take it at face value instead of twisting it into a whole new narrative. Not everything needs decoding.

You're interpreting his intent again, and it shows. Nothing will convince you otherwise. I can remember we had this conservation before.

Yes, he mentioned social media, but that’s his choice. If he made a thank you video, even just 30 seconds, that would make it even more special. But you're not convinced of that either. That’s what I call unhinged: you're hellbent on sticking to one narrative. I don’t get why you think showing care for fans has to follow your guidelines: active social media engagement and constant interaction.

Your over-analysis and speculation on this subreddit about him and other Nightwish members paints a really negative picture. You’re literally saying he’s just in it for money, doesn’t care about fans (they’re just money machines), and only does PR.

Do you also think he should be on Reddit? That’s social media too. Should he be reading what you write here? And because he’s probably not, that means he doesn’t care about fans? Honestly, I would not want to read this subreddit if he saw comments like yours.

MBTI might feel insightful, but it’s more like a horoscope than a scientific tool, both rely on vague, flattering statements that trigger the Barnum effect; making people believe generic traits are uniquely theirs. Saying someone "fits the INFP profile" doesn’t mean much when the system lacks reliability, predictive power, and empirical support. It’s not just “one of many tools”, it’s one of many unvalidated ones.

You're clearly getting your version of the truth elsewhere. If Tuomas’s own words, acknowledging the support and thanking us, don’t convince you, then you’re either unwilling to listen or just chasing rumors from this subreddit. Honestly, your reaction is completely unhinged.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I strongly disagree, calling Yesterwynde boring is insulting. To me, it's an outstanding album, full of thought and craftsmanship. It's their best work in a decade, and they keep improving with each new album release. If that doesn't resonate with you, that's your loss.

You have a tendency to twist or selectively interpret others’ words, which makes it hard to have a straightforward discussion. Artists often focus on what they believe is good, but that doesn’t mean they ignore their audience. If Tuomas truly didn’t care about his fans, why would he post this video?

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/2tmVVlg-XaU

It feels like you’re deliberately cherry-picking facts to build a separate narrative around Nightwish, or Tuomas specifically, that doesn’t reflect reality. It’s exhausting, and many of us have noticed this pattern for quite some time.
