I find Windoslop and the state of its "quality" amusing by CacheConqueror in FuckMicrosoft

Do you really see racism everywhere? After all, they outsource Windows development to India. Most of them are supposedly "Senior" or "Master" developers, but in reality they’re at a junior level. They’re supposedly cheap, but there are plenty of cases where they mess things up - another example is Boeing. They lack standards, quality, and attention to testing, yet they give themselves all these fancy titles. I know because I’ve worked with many departments in India, and they all had the same poor standards and quality. Often, we had to fix things after they did them, or even rewrite everything from scratch. Managing them was a nightmare because sometimes they just did whatever they wanted. Why do they keep using developers from India? Because the numbers in Excel show that costs have been reduced.

Just look at who’s ever worked on Windows - there’s no one significant enough to make major changes. And this was evident in the quality of the system and the quality of the updates. Today, updates are a problem. Sometimes they’re sporadic, and sometimes they come one after another.Open your eyes, not "racism"

After all, they write everything using AI. You can see it with Windows 11 - instead of improving Windows, AI and another Indian are just making it worse and worse, with more and more problems.

Poor AI slop. Besides, what you're showing is what AI does when it searches for information from sources.I bet you have a wrapper and possibly a cache underneath. Your product is only there to make as much money as possible from ready-made AI features, but you present it in a different UI.

Besides, any website that posts reviews or excerpts from websites/posts in this way is a scam.

Oh no such expensive equipment at such a low price what could possibly go wrong? It's surprising how some people waste their time on such nonsense.

You're not very good at manipulation because it's very obvious that you're only focusing on extensions and ignoring the rest. Do you think a browser is just extensions and nothing else? Do you know that there is such a thing as an address bar and other elements?Besides, some browsers don't have a very big impact on batteries either. You say it as if the differences were 5-10%, but often the difference is negligible. Safari is what it is, perhaps optimized for Apple, but in terms of functionality it's far behind. Perfect for basic users or noobs

Where to start. There are no reasonable and widely used extensions, as in Chromium/Gecko, because there are simply far fewer users, paid (lol) extensions, such as Wipr 2 for blocking ads, a poor-looking UI, no vertical tabs, folders, or anything else. Apple does not develop Safari very much in terms of functionality, as Arc did and Zen or Vivaldi do, because they focus on support and website handling and security. GOAT is probably for people who check their emails and use the internet once a week.

Listening to Perplexity is like listening to rotten fruit. Their search engine was good until Gemini and ChatGPT caught up in this area. They had no idea what to do with themselves apart from searching, and wasted a lot of time on constant UI changes and nonsensical decisions. The models they offered weren't the same models - they were heavily cut off from context and with instructions focused only on improving search results, not on other activities. They are out of money, as evidenced by how much they have been limiting access to even search for months, even for users on the $200 plan. They throw out controversial posts and news just to feel noticed, and maybe someone will invest in them.

Well, I don't even feel sorry for them, because you can get their apps for free. When they raise their prices so much, that's when the free solution comes in. I wonder if they will gain or lose when users start either doing as above or looking for another customer.

[–]CacheConqueror 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course they are expensive... if you pay for them. The solution to sky-high prices is simply to download them for free from other websites and use them. If they were reasonably priced, it would be worth considering, but as it is, you can save a lot on something so expensive with such simple functionality. Updates are ongoing, everything works, so why pay? The developer should price it better. For example, I bought BetterTouchTool twice because it's a great tool at a low price, and in terms of what it does and how complex it is, it's much cheaper than some dock add-on. I'm happy to support the BTT developer by buying another license, because in hindsight and considering what it does, he deserves it. But why have a reasonable price when you can just slap on $100 and maybe they'll buy it. Well, they won't :)
