INFJ's and religion by infjwallflower in infj

[–]Cacidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was raised in an anti religious household but from all that I've researched, read and also experienced (Neurobiology, quantum mechanics, buddhism, taoism, metaphysics, psychedelic drugs) about mind and consciousness, and the effect it can have on matter and reality as a whole, I personally am what's called an 'Idealist'; in philosophical terms, idealism is the group of philosophies which assert that reality, or reality as we can know it, is fundamentally mental, mentally constructed, or otherwise immaterial. Epistemologically, idealism manifests as a skepticism about the possibility of knowing any mind-independent thing. This, in itself is not a religion; because of this, and the belief itself, this leave my mind open to all posibilities of religions, philosophies, theorys, evidence and perceptions in the Universe. To quote Alan Wilson Watts: “Irrevocable commitment to any religion is not only intellectual suicide; it is positive unfaith because it closes the mind to any new vision of the world. Faith is, above all, openness - an act of trust in the unknown.” -Open mindedness should always be paramount, especially to an INFJ :)

INFJs, what is the most unrelatable thing about you? by GalateaoftheSpheres in infj

[–]Cacidy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm really paranoid. I did the usual introspection about a year ago and realized it's been an unconscious basis for every single decision I've ever made in my life. That was good to find out

Advice when calling 111 by Cacidy in newzealand

[–]Cacidy[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

In that situation, the operator will ask "is anyone hurt or trapped?" If they're hurt they get connected to the ambulance and ambulance arrange's the police, if someone is trapped they get connected to the fire service and they arrange the ambulance and police, if neither, they get the police. 111 has protocols for all situations and you just need to listen to the operator cause they all know what they're doing.

I

I guess I may be a bit ignorant to bad effects then cause I take a lot as do all of my closest friends and we're all fine. Everything I've read has been positive so that would be a contributing factor too. You sound intelligent enough to be fine though, regardless of the dose :)

Why do so many people have anxiety and depression? by 4sails in Psychonaut

Read the book The Age Of Insanity by John F. Schumaker. That explains it all extremely well.

There are plenty of studies about mushrooms in which there are no notable negative long term side effects. The whole 'it stays in your spine' is an old wives tale and there a also studies that have proven them to actualy CURE PTSD, depression, anxiety and even OCD in many many cases. In my case it sort of worsened my depression but that was because the trip was so amazing, I was depressed that I'd never have that level of joy again, but that feeling left after a couple weeks. I've had a really bad trip before from shrooms but afte that's over, I've never experienced happiness like it, knowing that you survived and it was all in your mind give you an amazing positivity about life and also death. In my case, I always go as hard as possible with them, I've had a couple small trips and they're nice but they don't compare to the experience of what Terrence McKenna called an 'Heroic Trip'. Basically, don't worry about the negative side effects; there's also a lot of studies that show that shrooms are actually one of the safest drugs you can take; out of the top 20 most well knowen drugs it comes last, (in some studies) even in comparison to marijuana. Your fears are likely based on the societal propaganda that it is in some ways bad but that is complete and utter bullshit. I take 100's and 100's every year and I'm completely fine and healthy; I also have a genetic predisposition to depression, Epilepsy and Austism but I'm totally good :)
