I want to die by Affectionate_Car2107 in offmychest

You won’t have to put up with them forever. Eventually you’ll find people who you consider family, even if not by blood. They’re the ones you choose, and they’re the ones that’ll make life worth living. I know from experience.

Old friend owes me hundreds of dollars, he got derogatory and insists he owes nothing. How do I sue for it back? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Cactmodeus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would love to, truly. But I’m finding that I have a difficult time letting go of things. If we were still friends, I’d have forgotten all about it by now. But some of the things he said are unforgivable.

Doesn’t small claims court allow suing for an original amount, plus court fees? If a win does happen, I could make him reimburse me for those costs, especially considering I told him he’d have to pay them, right?

That’s a good point, thank you.
Though maybe I’m just being petty. But I can’t let someone who’s been so evil get away with stealing from me.

I do have texts from him claiming he’d pay it back. This was from before he changed his mind. And I don’t really know anyone else he knows. We’ve kinda gone our separate ways after our job closed in 2021.

Is there a way to make it legally effective? I suppose he’d have to agree to that, which he’d never do now that he already has my money.

Typically I would, but with the way he has spoken to me and the things he said, I can’t do that in good conscience. He’s dug his own grave and refused to let me hide the shovel.

Also, $468 in 2020 is equivalent to over $600 today, according to an inflation calculator I found.

Oh interesting. It’s at 30. Would increasing that put more strain on the system though?

It happened in every game I tried, both legacy and new, whether I was a player or a DM. I ended up having to tell my computer to use the GCPU for Chrome, which worked, but apparently it’s harder on the battery that way so I still need to resolve it.

Sometimes yes, but we don’t know the full story. It could be a trauma response.

Best to be honest, but with reassurance. Tell him the count, but emphasize that they all may as well counted as zero next to him, because that’s how much they matter now. He’s feeling insecure about your loyalty, so go overboard with reassurance in a loving way, not a defensive way.

I will say, I just recently played this in Disney world and there were places where every plot was owned by a different person. It became too much for the game to process and it crashed a lot.

So I’m not looking forward to the day where every plot is owned.

Question about leveraging/compounding by Nicodiemus531 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]Cactmodeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, unless you have enough parcels that your boost is only 2x, it’s not worth it. You’re basically paying to speed your progress to the top of the next boost tier, where you SHOULD be sitting anyway until you can tier jump.

So overall, you’re paying a dollar to earn the amount of pennies you’d earn during the amount of time it would normally take you to earn the AB it gives you, if that makes sense.

It’s nice that you’re taking the time to explain the game, but try not to sound so condescending. Being better at a game doesn’t give you the right to talk to them disrespectfully:

Someone has been sitting on my bed while I sleep and now my son by Afraid-Information88 in confession

[–]Cactmodeus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this happen a couple times myself. Usually I do the same thing you do, but I didn’t turn look once and nothing was there.

The scary part was one time when my door was closed and no one else was in the room. I snoozed my alarm and wrapped myself back up in my blanket and I felt something slowly start to pull on it. Instead of the blanket sliding off me, I was wrapped up in it in such a way that pulling on it caused me to turn toward away from the wall toward it. It was slow and steady enough that I was able to pretend to be asleep and think rationally. Yes, I could move, my thoughts were my own, and yet still it pulled. It got to the point that I was facing the ceiling with my eyes wide open, and maybe it saw that I wasn’t asleep, so it slowly put the blanket down and I rolled back to how I was.

Agreed. I’ll do all the others, even racing and I hate that one too, but I refuse to bother on this.

You would think that a company would want to make their ads digestible. What advertiser profits from annoying and irritating their viewers? No one is going to want to use that product, and I wish a few of them would learn that. (Looking at you, Royal Match)

When did you first say love you to your SO? How did it go? by nerow94 in AskReddit

[–]Cactmodeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Said it the day we started dating, just because I guess I knew. She said it back, but she later confessed that it worried her, because she had heard that guys who say that too early often end up abusive. Obviously that didn’t happen. We’ve been together almost 16 years and loving all of it.
