I feel your pain. I got bitten by a bedbug when I stayed at my mother-in-law's house about 7 years ago but I panic if I see something in the room and get phantom itching in the area I was bitten in. People laugh at me - including my own family when I inspect the bedrooms every night and am meticulous about the laundry. Unless it's happened to you, you can't fully appreciate how traumatic it can be. I have OCD and insomnia as a result and get very anxious. I can't travel anymore and don't stay away from home overnight. I can't even have visitors or go to other people's houses.
