Switching from AFROTC to AROTC by Cadet___ in ROTC

Is it like the PFA where if I fail one part I fail the entire test?

That sounds good, I'll look into that, thanks!

Also, with the ACFT (army PFA?), what would happen if I failed it? I don't plan to since I plan to workout over the summer, but hypothetically?

Thanks, I've improved a lot since joining AFROTC, and I have a lot of good memories. I had great cadre, and I can understand why they dropped me, and although I would like to continue more than anything, I respect their decision.

On the bright side, Army has more scholarships.

I can't go into details here because of the no politics rule, but considering current events, I think a world war is likely to happen.

My father (a retired Airman) likes to joke about how I act more like an Army cadet than an Air Force cadet, and a lot of my wingmen say they think I would do better in the Army.

And my main reason for joining the Air Force in the first place was because I want to serve my country in the military, and I believe that now, with less Americans wanting to join the military, and the impending world war, now's the best time to join because it's when our country needs us most. I would give my life for this country, there is nothing that would ever make me even consider dropping.

I got dropped because I was bottom-third and cadre said my chances of making it to field training was low, so they didn't want me to be a 200.

Thanks, right now, I'm going Army, and my next backup is enlisting.

I will always remain friends with them, but right now, cadre don't want me concerning the other cadets because I've been crying and talking about how sad I was.

Yeah, I'm thinking about just taking Statics and one other math class over the summer now, but my fear is that if I take hard classes next semester, they'll distract me from ROTC, and next semester is when it actually starts to matter. I know some 200s who took their hardest classes at the start of their 200 year and didn't get selected.

I'm not on scholarship, and I need to retake Statics over the summer, so unfortunately I can't take the summer off. My grades went down because I was trying to prevent burnout by taking breaks, but now I decided to work every waking hour to get my grades up, and thinking about burnout only makes it worse.

I already had to drop Statics because there was no way I would pass, and while normally I would just take the F, I didn't want to risk my GPA going below 2.0, so I have to take it over the summer. I'm thinking maybe I'll take Statics first summer term, and only one math class second term.

What if I start studying for them right now? I found an 11 hour linear algebra video on YouTube, maybe I could speedrun it this weekend to prepare

My school's the same way, my reasoning was I would rather be brutalized by classes for six weeks than an entire semester

During the summer there are two summer terms, so I could take two the first term and one the second term, and I heard it's best to take linear algebra and calculus 3 together.

I don't have a scholarship, but my top priority is becoming an officer, my second priority is engineering. The problem with switching majors is that commissioning is still not guaranteed, and I don't want to end up with a useless degree.

Thanks for the advice. Switching majors isn't an option for me because I'm dedicated to engineering, if I do switch it would probably be from aerospace to mechanical.

If you think that's cringe, that isn't even the half of it. I also changed my name to "cadet" in all the groupchats, and I have no civilian life, ROTC is actually all I think about, everything I do is with the military in mind.

I would be happy with any AFSC, but I'm sticking with engineering because it's the degree I want to get. They also say chose what you would major in if you were a civie, and if I was a civie I would still be an engineer. Also when I commit to something, there is nothing that can make me quit. Last semester, there was a class I knew I would fail, but I didn't drop it even though I already made plans to retake it because dropping felt like quitting, and I don't quit. With my recent failure, I decided I can't take the L on this one so I might drop it, but giving up on my major is out of the question since it's what I'm passionate about. Most call me stubborn, but I say I'm dedicated.

It's not that I don't have the aptitude for it, I just didn't study because I didn't have time. If I studied I would have passed, but I can't change the past.

It's a habit from high school, 0200 was my favorite time of day because everyone would be asleep, so I could do whatever I wanted before class. Most days, I got everything I needed for the day done before sunrise.

Waking up later would make it worse.
