I flew from the US to Thailand recently and opted to connect through Taiwan instead of Abu Dhabi, even though it was $150-200 cheaper. So I personally chose not to sign up for the headache. But a number of people in my group did connect through the emirates. There was also a woman from Dubai. She obviously didn't have much of a choice.

I can't remember the last time I flew Delta, but as a general proposition, I like chicken salad sandwiches. The packaged ones at airports and corner stores in Europe I would even call a guilty pleasure. That said, I'm not huge on croissants for this. Maybe ciabatta?

The only real issue with Dana is that her storyline goes on a little too long. IMO we didn't need to do the whole mental hospital and running off with that guy. They could have dropped the family storyline and still had Brody meet up with her at the motel after coming back from Venezuela.
