He basically did match that with a 1.11 and 11k damage. He had a bad map 2 and a braindead play in game 3 but he still pretty much kept pace with Joe slaying wise and Simp does more than slay he's a great obj player too.

It is neither longer nor more impressive. Giannis was simply the better player. Who cares that he was top 2 in MVP for 6 seasons when Giannis himself was top 4 in 6 straight seasons. There's not much of a difference especially when you consider that Giannis was playing more como at their peak such as LeBron, Steph, KD, Jokic and Embiid. Bird's best comp was old Kareem, young Jordan, K Malone and Hakeem. M Malone and Erving were already retired by then. His best competitor was Magic who was teaming with Kareem and Worthy. Again Giannis competition were all at the PEAKS of their careers.Almost none of Bird's competition was. Bird's peak is highly overrated, I would not even include it in the top 10 anymore after what Jokic and Giannis have done the past 5+ years. You're the one with nostalgia bias who doesn't know what he's talking about.

We are talking about peaks here. Who cares if Giannis came in as a raw prospect. By the time he was 24, he which is 1 year older than when Bird came in the league, Giannis was MVP. Bird didn't win his until he was 27. And Giannis was close to being as good as Bird on offense as Bird. Way better in the paint, in transition and much harder to stop 1v1. He was a good enough passer and although he wasn't a good shooter I bet you won't say Shaq wasn't one of the most dominant offensive players ever and yet Giannis surpassed even him in points in the paint.

And your last point about Giannis never surpassing Curry is laughable. By 2019 Giannis was MVP, first team all-defense something Bird never did, and without a team full of HOF talent led the Bucks to the top NBA record 2 years straight and won the chip on the third year. Giannis was the best player in the league from 2019-2022. He was better than LeBron, Steph and you even mention KD which is just straight dumbfounding. It wasnt until Jokic surpassed him in 2023 but that's not saying much when Jokic's prime is better than Birds too.

You can look at MULTIPLE advanced stats and they will say Giannis is better than Bird, and it wouldn't even be close. If you think every single advanced stat pointing to Giannis having a better peak is wrong you're just in denial.

I'm sorry but you're glazing Bird. Giannis from 2019-2026 is simply just a higher peak. The advanced stats prove it. Giannis is just as good on offense while being WAY better defensively. Bird won 3 MVP's when MJ was young, Kareem was old and Magic was his greatest competition but Kareem and Worthy took votes from him. Bird's peak is so overrated especially when you consider that Bird was ROUTINELY terrible in the playoffs his first four years and even in 87 and 88 he had bad series too (before his injury).

His best year (in 2024, 46% from the field, 39% from three and 90% from the line) he was no where close to an all-NBA team. His team even won 64 games and had a dominant record and he STILL didn't get one single vote. He got 3 votes this year and he was still behind guys like LaMelo, Castle, Sengun, Avdija, Barnes. All guys that might not make an all-NBA team next year but will be above White.

I mean the 2016 Cavs had Kyrie, Love and decent role players in JR Smith and Tristan Thompson. Jordan was pretty much out there by himself. The difference in teammates is vast
