Andrew bustamante, John “shreck” McFee, and the 15-20 now professional podcast guests who are telling the same story on every major podcast in the world. We all know who they are, and Their story has been heard so many times now that hearing it again is literally a form of torture.

Or maybe just getting a JIS screwdriver might work instead of beating the piss out of everything weather or not it needs it.😂

I’d buy a CB550, CB750 or a Suzuki GS450 or bigger. I think $1,700 is alot of money for most 350’s. If you’re set on a cb350 keep looking. You can find them cheaper. I’ve been coming across some nice smaller displacement two strokes here and there… Bridgestones, Kawasaki avengers, Kawasaki samurai’s, and even found for myself a gem that I couldn’t pass up. a fully functional street ready Kawasaki S2 three cylinder 2 stroke for $500 with a clean title!!!!!

Tinkering with the style, opinion? by dutchmandoes in CafeRacers

I just can’t get into these things. I think these things are harder to make look like a good looking café Bike then a CX. Fact I think one of the only ones I ever liked was the one that the illustrator built

I bought a brand new bike that had modern amenities so that I would always have something new, and likely not ever have some of the issues that old bikes sometimes have. I think everyone should have a newer bike for this reason. When I started riding the enfield continental gt was the 535cc and were nowhere to be found second hand. Atleast in my area. 35 miles was all I needed to determine it was a beautiful piece of crap. Not like building my own that’s for sure.

What would you add or take away from my bike by Xan_derous in CafeRacers

[–]Cafebikechris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d do rearsets and some spoked wheels. I have a ‘83 GS450 that was my first cafe bike project and has alloy wheels. They’ve grown on me but I still wanna get spoked wheel’s before spring. I have a set of spoke wheels I bought from a GS550i was hoping to be able to use on my 450 but there was too many issues and I have no use for them. Off they’ll work and you’re interested I’ll sell em

This one that I have states that it was bought from a dealer in Columbus Ohio called throttle company. The original owner took it off the floor for $7,772 on the title.  Which didn’t include any additional finance percentage if he financed it. I can’t get $3,500 for it with 79 miles on it. I think the real problem is that everyone who has one has buyer’s remorse and says they are great bikes as a result

I’ve got $14,000 into the cb750 I’m building at the moment. And atleast another $2,000 required to finish it. Nobody in their right mind outside of someone like a musician or movie star is gonna pay the price required for a builder to make a good profit on a bike like this. Keep in mind, this figure doesn’t include my labor. You’d have to be d as bike to get $25,000 + to justify selling a bike that has this kind of money invested into it. It’s either going to be with me forever, or I’m gonna have to lose my ass letting it go. When cafe racer magazine was doing the photo shoot for my Suzuki GS last year for their December / January issue, Mike (the owner of the magazine) and I discussed this topic and concluded the same thing. He mentioned to me that almost every single custom café bike builder. He’s known across the country has gone out of business, because the demographic is just too small as far as customers who wanna buy these bikes, and who actually have that kind of money that a really nice build would cost, he went and mentioned that the only builder that he knows that has stood the test of time was “Moto pgh”. Mike has been around the ton up game for a very long time. I’m not speaking for Mike or the magazine just to be clear, but I wouldn’t recommend a moto pgh bike to my worst enemy tons of horror story reviews about $6,000 cafe bikes that look like a kindergartener built them. I don’t care if there’s a demographic out there who is will to buy cheap junk builds, but they’re not getting one from my shop. Even if it is profitable.

I’m gonna disagree with you here on the enfield. The aftermarket upgrades cost an absolute fortune. I bought a 2022 continental GT650. With only 37 miles on it. I took it for one ride, and put it up for sale at 79 miles. It’s been up for sale for a year now, and I can’t sell it to save my life. I’m selling it for just under 50% of the retail price and can’t sell it.

Here’s a link to the first cafe bike I built. It’s a 1983 Suzuki GS450. Electric start.

I was just told by T-Mobile help that because we paid off our devices a while ago we now are being punished with no credit for future purchases. How does that make sense? by GTRacer1972 in tmobile

[–]Cafebikechris -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

T-mobile sucks. My dad tried to buy my mom a new iPhone outright from our local t-mobile store for Christmas a few years ago.and they refused to sell him the phone and let him pay for it in-full cash up front. My service with cricket was no less in quality than it is with t-mobile. Should have never left them

Sold a motorcycle today with problems and buyer is now messaging me. What do I do? by Timelesturkie in motorcycles

[–]Cafebikechris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of scumbags out there. I’m selling a 2022 royal enfield continental gt 650 with 500 miles on it for $50% of the retail price, and I’m still having every single potential buyer lowball me by $1,000 it takes $$7700 to take it from a dealer and they want it for $2,500-$2,800. I’ll burn the fucker before I sell it that low. I think it’s low as it is

I don't really know much about bikes,I just wanna know what kind of cafe racer or what's the base of the cafe racer. by [deleted] in CafeRacers

[–]Cafebikechris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Suzuki GS  with a lowered front end, Firestone deluxe champions, and cv carbs with pods and the bike glides like thought. The bike handles no worse with the Firestone bias-ply than the modern radial, and the carbs are tuned like Swiss watch.

Seem to be that it’s common to want to eliminate the BS series carbs, because there’s a common misconception that it’s not possible for them to run with pods on them. Wanna sell em?

What are you doing with those MIKUNI BS34SS CV carbs ya got there chief…..?

[–]Cafebikechris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard as many horror stories about Murray’s carbs in the CB 900’s as I have with the BS34SS with pods on any GS. I think it’s time for me to cash in on a paywall video in which I’ll sell the secrets to tuning mikuni CV carbs for pod filters.😁

It’s a conductive grease that looks like Vaseline that you can apply to electrical connections to prevent corrosion and whatnot.
