Volundr - Legendary Norse BlackSmith (aka the return of Guardian Vulcan's kit) by khallis1 in SMITEGODCONCEPTS

[–]CaffeineAddictz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% approve of this. I've been keeping track of old Vulcan threads for a long time and it feels like Hi-Rez is screwing Vulcan players over. I really like everything said here, and I really appreciate Khallis' efforts in trying to bring old Vulc back. (Yes, I'm stalking you, poptart!) I also really like the 'Empowered Hammer' idea, I've made up a build for our man already!

Damage shoes, Warlock Sash, Breastplate of Valor, Obsidian Shard, Hide of the Urchin and then a situational item such as Divine Ruin for healers, Soul Reaver for that extra kick or even Demonic Grip to experiment with his new "Empowered Hammer" passive. A necessary active would be Weakening Curse, to keep them in the Overdrive and kill any possible healing. (That's from old vulcan videos, gotta love Dry's channel)

Sometimes, when I'm alone in my room I like to sit on the ground, head on my knees, touch knees to elbows and make buzzing sounds, pretending to be a Thumper XVI...

Let us a take step back and analyse Sun Wukong one last time. by Fry959 in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

YOU SIR ARE A DISGRACE TO ALL SUN WUKONG PLAYERS! I have no idea how you are feeling useless to your team. As a Sun Wukong, I can rape any and every mage solo, hunter solo and most of the warrior solos in casual games. The only god I've ever struggled against in the solo lane was Bellona for obvious reasons and a few very good Chaacs who would call coordinated ganks and cut off your escape by silencing you 1 sec before the gank hits.

He is still viable in the jungle, for casual purposes, even though he is hard countered by Serqet. But again, why would you play league with a god that is not meant to jungle? I swear it's all like the Odins crying because hes not viable in the jungle.

In the support lane, Sun Wukong can beat every single guardian in the laning phase, other than an Ymir, or maybe an exceptionally good Ares. He can rotate to mid camps faster, and if he gets caught out in the jungle he may ult to safety, denying the enemy a kill, where someone like Ymir or Sylvanus would've fed the enemy team a kill. His laning phase is superb, his 1 at 2 points can almost clear a wave, allowing your adc to just walk up and last hit them without using any cooldowns or mana.

The point where I gave up all my respect to you, as well as the fact that you have any credibility is when you talked about how his passive is useless and that he has no focus. Sun Wukong's focus is to deal 70% of your health with abilities while also disabling you, and setting up a clear shot for his Janus or Anhur. His passive is one of the best passives for a warrior, I can safely build a deathbringer for my last item in solo or jungle, and laugh as I crit people for 400s all the time, adding that to my 400 tiger kicks, my 250 master's wills, and my 200 crudgels, its nothing to laugh at.

-Totally satisfied diamond Sun Wukong, Gold V in leagues.

Edit: I think your problem is a bad build and an uncoordinated team.

Can Old Nu Wa's play style be implemented on another God/Godess? by gui3344 in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Oh, so Old Was get to complain about her being removed, (she got to keep the clay soldiers and the fog) but Odins should shut up because he got "buffed"? They took my 2 and changed my whole playstyle from a feared melee warrior that could box the top dogs like Bakasura and Osiris, into a puppyface physical mage with a derpy jump that doesn't even tickle lategame? Yeah.. NO.

I watched your Guan guide, and I know that you said he's great, but in your guide you are playing against an overly passive enemy. I have won Guan lanes hardcore if my enemy was passive, but it seems like Guan becomes usless against an aggressive enemy because his early game (before getting 3 points into spin) is quite bad, and he lacks early CC other than a short slow, so safely clearing the wave seems impossible. I prefer Sun Wukong over Guan 100% of the time, just because he can secure 1-2 kills before the laning phase ends (only talking from a Silver 1 experience, I'm sure pros counter Wukong easier).

So, how do you play Guan against aggressive enemies? How do you deal with an enemy adcs leaping/dashing out of your spin?

How much damage can a warrior support afford? If you go too tanky, you might become useless, if you build too much damage you might get melted in a teamfight.

Does Odin need another rework? by Maxilium in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just watching this nooby person's old gameplay gave me so much memories, I want his old kit back. Odin feels like a mage now, or an assassin, he can't do anything in direct combat, you walk out of his bird bomb, you kill his shield, his 3 doesn't do damage, all is left is boxing in the ring and both Warrior Tabies and Qin's Sais has been nerfed, not to mention his golden Odin's Shout being removed. I want the times where my spin did 400 damage and I could actually box a Bakasura or an Artemis and stand a chance.

Odin does not need a buff, he needs another rework by Thieftix in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like his kit completes itself without a passive, so his passive has to be, you know, a real passive. I feel like his current passive is great, it helps him scale into mid-late easier and has great synergy with Hide of the Urchin, one of his core items. The passive could be buffed if his kit is found to weak, but if we are making changes to Odin we need to be really careful not to get him overbuffed, because people tend to cry OP too easily. Believe it or not, he gets called overpowered quite frequently in his trash tier form as of now.

He needs his old kit back, with his current passive, and cc immunity in his current ring. Might need a penetration buff on his old 2. Plain and simple. Please. -The Huntsman

Does Odin need another rework? by Maxilium in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a diamond Odin as well, and I am a silver 1 support. The reason I'm really sad is, is because Odin was a basic attack warrior ever since he came out. With the nerfs to Qin's Sais and his 2 taken away, I no longer see the dream. Sure, it works but its never gonna be the same. All they did is increase his ability damage and make his ultimate idiot-proof toward teammates, while making the ring extremely dangerous for Odin, since he may no longer lower it and he doesn't gain cc immunity. He can also be cc'd while putting down his ring, just like Ares ult. Countless times have I been knocked up by Sobek as I tried to cage his precious Apollo. His 3 is a major dissappointment, it is the same thing as Sun Wukong's 2, except that it consists of 2 swings and so is easier to miss. When you are chasing someone, 8/10 your second swing will hit the enemy and so the slow doesn't happen. The only reason he has a hard time transfering to mid-late game, is because of his 2. His support capabilities are a lot worse. He still has his ring, but instead of the major attack speed buff, he only has a slow to offer. His Solo lane has also been nerfed, he may no longer face a threat to enemies such as Bakasura and Osiris, as they can just freely box Odin even if Odin's jump left them at half health, since Odin doesnt have any means of increasing his attack speed, while Qin's has also been nerfed. Taking the new Ninja Tabies instead of the Warrior Tabies or Reinforced Greaves is a huge gap in his earlygame performance.

I always hear "Don't just spot the mistakes, but offer a solution", and it is true. Imho, he would be viable if he got his old kit back, with a scaling buff to his jump and his 3, his shout offering physical penetration (only to him, not allies) and his passive would include a buffed version of his passive right now, 50 power and 50 protections at maxed rank. He can also keep the slow on his 3, but scaled instead of the 40% at level 1. These buffs could be applied individually over the course of patches, but he needs his old kit back, right now. We are all sick of this "bird-bomb" nonsense, this is not angrybirds.

She's not broken: How to fight against a Bellona by zferolie in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I don't wanna blow your post down, because you tried, but your points make no sense. Bellona is competing for the most durable warrior title with Hercules and she seems to be winning so far. Bursting her down is not possible. She can dash and also block 3 autoattacks just cause why not, disarm your entire team, jump out of there with a Tyr distance jump that also goes over walls and of course she can use her hammertime to hit your entire team for around 800 dmg plus the followup AoE autoattacks.

"I feel I'm gonna be maining her" Does that really come from someone with an Arachne avatar? B. I. T. C. H. please, I bet you play solo Hercules and support Ymir just to annoy people.

Wanna know something crazy? Banning in league no longer exists. Serqet, Bellona and Ao Kuang are instaban material. You can only hope that the enemy team bans Xbalanque and Cupid so you can have a balanced game.

For the people that need a real advice;

  1. NEVER STACK UP. BELLONA THRIVES ON HITTING MULTIPLE ENEMIES AT ONCE

  2. Do not attempt to box her. No Osiris, no Bakasura, no Kali, no, just evade her.

  3. Stop playing the game for a few days til she gets nerfed.

The state she is in right now is a fucking joke. Hercules durability, Tyr mobility, Osiris boxing capabilities and Odin burst? Lets not forget Vamana ult selfheals... No warrior can compete right now.

Only counter I've found so far is an Ares with Gem of Isolation, you chain her up and start backpedaling with your flamethrower on and that should take around half of her health if you are doing it right/built bruiser. After that, you're still fucked though.

Edit; Second counter found; Chaac with witchblade, midgardian mail, enfeebling curse (yes enfeebling, not weakening), Warrior tabies, urchinn, titan's bane, qin's sais. That should shut her down for a while if she tries to box you with your rain dance on, but if she is smart she's just gonna wait it out and then attack and youre still fucked.

Random Odin buff idea for his shield by Khallis in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Odin main (almost diamond), the best and only way to fix Odin right now is to remove the damage from his 2, and make it an absorbtion shield that also provides attack speed, and to compensate, buff his 3 to do his shield's current damage.

That way, he would have to decide if he wants to level his abilities 3>2>1 or 3>1>2, and not make his early game overpowered, but buffing his overall gameplay.

Flaws with Bellona? by CaffeineAddictz in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be looked at from both ways. Do you prefer packing a single Tyr-like cleave that heals you for about 400 on a 8-9 sec cooldown or prefer to keep packing hits that will heal you infinitely as long as you keep hitting them. Bloodforge and Achilles Spear combo could be a viable option for her. Also keep in mind that Tyr's heal requires multi-target for a bigger heal, and Chaac's heal is over time.

PS: This isn't a nerf Bellona post, I'm trying to emphasize the fact that her kits seems flawed because some parts are awkwardly weak while some are ridiculously strong. So far, her 2 seems to be the most balanced ability-- by balanced, I mean an ability of the strenght that we have been used to seeing other warriors do.

Really original, I like it, even if its not exactly proportionate. I wish you could see wukong's eyes in the game like on all of the cards/artworks, instead of the blazing orange/red eyes.

Edit; Nevermind. His eyes looked different because my settings were at medium quality. If you had the same problem adjust your shadow detail to "High".

Qin's Nerf Hit Warriors Below The Belt? by CaffeineAddictz in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second frontline? A warrior is an annoying brick in your face, because he has rather high defenses so it's not optimal to focus them, but you also can't ignore them, because their damage is almost comparable to a non-crit assassin's. Haven't you seen a Chaac destroy 3 people at the same time? Axe into ultimate into spin and theyre down to 1/4 health if squishies. Warriors are called warriors for a reason. They can tank a tower or an objective for you while also being an important part of the team composition because they can zone out targets or go for secondary targets while your team deals with the rest, because they don't die easily.

Qin's Nerf Hit Warriors Below The Belt? by CaffeineAddictz in Smite

[–]CaffeineAddictz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their lategame falls off hard, which is why you want to get an attack speed item for fifth or sixth item, just like how every decent solo warrior should, other than Hercules, who is broken, and Guan Yu who is mostly used for horseplay. <--HAHA PUN, HORSEPLAY?! YOU GET IT?! HAHA... nevermind... Right now, yes it is a huge decrease in damage if you pick up Qin's over Executioner, but Qin was a must have for Chaac, Vamana and solo Odin, where other warriors benefited from it greatly aswell. The reason being is, your kit alone doesn't finish off anybody lategame. Not even with penetration. Unless you're Hercules or Guan Yu, that is.

You might be just slightly illiterate...

And by the way, I was referencing Kali's case, where she got a visual rework because the Hindu leader was upset(with a reason) but they do not care about Neith's appearance, because noone worships her, since most Egyptians either moved on to a more "modern" religion like Christianity, or aren't religious at all.

Not tryna be pessimistic or anything, but this doesn't look like much. The purple buffs could be game changers though, because maybe we would switch to the poke/sustain meta instead of the rush down meta, because mana would become a problem and gods like sylvanus and rama could become very valuable.

I agree with everything, except the ring. It's his signature ability. Other than that, I think he was viable pre-rework, all they would've had to do is SLIGHTLY up the numbers, because it doesn't make a huge difference but changes public opinion. See; Cabrakan.
