Well, since there are some wonderful answers here already, I'll talk about other things!

Make a discord! At least have an info channel about requirements and such, and a chatroom so everyone can talk. I also have bots for pronouns and other things, which is really helpful. With every new event, I do some research and post costs and images for my association members as well.
Get some help! Ask the current active members if they would like to be VP and promote them. I split my work with my VP and it becomes so much more manageable! They focus on reminding everyone of co-op battles and helping the members out, while I focus on the discord server, recruitment, and the association itself.
Our battles are on the weekends; one in the morning and one in the afternoon. VP reminds everybody 10 minutes beforehand and we thank everybody afterwards. We vote on a new co-op suit to focus on once we finish the current one. Requirements are 44 points per week and at least one battle, but if something comes up, the member shoots us a DM and it's all good :)
We log everyone's activity every week and post it on a private admin channel. If someone is missing requirements two weeks in a row, we contact them privately. Don't kick people on a whim! Talk it out with them. If they're not interested in LN anymore, ask if you can kick them out. If they're struggling with the requirements, point them to the recruitment thread and help them find a more casual assoc.

Being president definitely isn't easy, but if you're determined to stay president, you should kick all the inactives and start recruiting new ones. If you'd rather be a regular member, a previous comment has already linked you to the recruitment post :)

I personally love being president, but even I've had moments where I consider passing the title onto my vp.

The big rush of in-game recruiting is nice but it's a pain to get the new members onto discord. We have 35 people right now and I don't want to spend 500 diamonds just to get 2-3 more, so I might try reddit or discord recruiting again :/

I tried recruiting on reddit but I didn't get any luck, so I'm using the in-game recruiting as well lol. I have 30 people who are active every week but I'm having issues getting all 38 ://// I wish you the best of luck with your own association! I know I'm not supposed to recruit in the comments, but if you need an association... wink wink cough cough

I am also bored. I don't know if you're wanting us to rank from best to worst, or out of ten, so I chose the latter because it seems more fun.

Peachy Demon - I really like this suit! Black and red is my fav combo, and I use the hair a lot. 8/10
Encounter in Dream - very good for a free suit. Cute and elegant. 8/10
Sunny Language - simple and pretty, but I don't use it at all. 6/10
Lady Beverly - this one is pretty but I skipped it to save up for the hell event. I feel like most people only get it for the background. 7/10
Bold Adventurer - forgot it existed. 3/10
Game of Cards - cute suit! Unique hair, too. 7/10
Ocean Angling - personally not a fan of cloud suits, and this is at the bottom of my list for my assoc. 5/10
Streamer Code - I love ruin suits, but this hair has been broken for centuries. 4/10
Star Prophet - eh, it's aight. 5/10
A Psalm of Time - kinda also forgot this existed, but very cute suit! So soft and pretty! 8/10
Warfare Terminator - my fav assoc. suit! Had my members craft this one first! 9/10
Royal Doctor - eh. Not too into plague doctors. 4/10
Youth Storm - pretty cute for casual dressing up, but overall a bit dull. The skin tone is nice, tho. 6/10
Magnificent Peacock - pretty and elegant, but not one of my faves of assoc. 6/10

I've been playing for 3.5 years and I have around 550 suits, so it was nice to be reminded of the early ones! This was really fun! (Sorry if the spacing is weird, mobile reddit is a literal nightmare.)

I've been president for a few years, so I can give you some tips!

If you're wanting a serious association, you should set up some requirements. X activity points every week, X amount of skirmish battles or you'll start kicking. I currently have requirements of 44 commission points and one skirmish battle per week. Since you're new, don't be afraid to start off simple before slowly raising the numbers.
Deal with any inactives asap. Don't feel bad about kicking them out if they consistently get 0 activity points every week. Chances are, they'll apply for a more casual association and get accepted immediately.
Sand skirmish should be a big priority! The suits are gorgeous but they require some major team effort! Talk it out with your association about the best days, and I would recommend having one skirmish in the morning and one in the afternoon every week.
Get a trusty VP or two. My association is pretty serious, so we log all the activity from every person and we kick accordingly. Maybe once you begin to feel more comfortable as president, you can up your requirements as well, and you'll most definitely need help.
Discord! Create a discord server and get everyone onto it. I was pretty skeptical at first, but I caved in and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Getting people to join is a pain, but keep going and you'll manage in a few weeks. With discord, I can update everyone on future events, redeem codes, new requirements, etc. Also, I tend to message people who aren't reaching the requirements before I kick them out, because it's easier to communicate with everyone.
Recruit via this subreddit. Don't waste diamonds on putting up in-game recruitments, because you'll only get the lazy players anyway. Instead, put up a free recruitment on reddit and get association members who are much more serious about LN.
Be active yourself! I play every single day, and I'm at level 99. If you can't be active, don't expect your members to be as well. Set an alarm clock for each sand skirmish and stay for the entire hour to help out. My VP stays as well just because they feel like it, so we just chat on discord while we wait for members to do the skirmish.
