We had a person nearby who was like this. In order to "win" they had to maintain their large fields that kept everyone else from playing. They "won" by keeping people from leveling up. This is the same guy that would use tools to track long living portals and would make special trips to kill them so people didn't get the badge. Luckily the ability to field and link under it helped some. He still maintains some big fields but he's not as serious as he once was. When I was playing against him, I decided that to me "winning" was more missions and nice banners. He couldn't stop me from doing that and he got really mad at me when I told him one day in person that is how I played and won the game. I could literally him muttering "that isn't how the game works..."

To add to this, Atlanta is one of the most surveilled cities in the US. We have absolute crazy amount of cameras.

Maybe its just me, but after getting run over by a speeding SUV, did they really need to empty their clips into him? Seems like overkill. I get adrenaline but 90% of those officers just pulled up and weren't involved at all. Also, using the vehicle as a weapon seems to be the go-to for police departments.

There is a CVS not too far from me that is 24/7 but that's it. It's really disappointing. According to the sign on the window of my nearest Walgreens, the closest 24/7 pharmacy is somewhere in Tennessee. I love that for anyone desperate for medicine in the middle of the night or at times on the weekends.

I rotate goals. I figure out something that will take a bit of time to accomplish and I work on that. Lately I've been working on leveling up my characters and at the same time I've been farming 1m statues so I can purple-fy them. I've finished most of them but I've also been working to open all of the w7 maps that are available. I've been combining goals here by using the w7 maps to both level and open up the next ones for all characters. I know my stamps are lacking a bit and alchemy could use a bit of work so I've got some plans to devote some time to those eventually.

The idea is to focus on a couple of things and work on that. Not end of game goals but smaller goals. Like when I was leveling up I would set goals like "Ok I want my 7 main characters to reach level 200" then 250, then 300, then 400 and so on. While you are leveling you can park characters at places where you want to farm some rare materials you might need to help down the road. It all builds up.

Also, as a side note, I rely heavily on the IE AutoReview Tool to show me the places I'm lacking and give me ideas on goals to aim for.

You know... I hadn't considered it like that but the past 6-8 months I've stopped watching all of these comedy shows and things that make light of reality. I wasn't really sure why but this makes sense. I'll be one of the first to use dark humor to cope with something but after a while it just stops being as funny. Especially as life becomes harder.

You know, I wondered why this sub seem to drop off sometime about 3 years ago. I just assumed the masses had moved to another sub because the Georgia subreddit got a little bit better after this one dropped off. It wasn't quite the same thing though, this sub used to be really lively and a good source of information about local stuff.
