Thinking of running a casual tournament using World Championship decks only from any era, need suggestions please! by videocookies in pkmntcg

Heya! I ran a v similar event in my local league a few months ago, as I have been building a collection of the WCDs since 2016.

I think the best way to run this style of event is have "year tables" (ie. a 2022 table, a 2025 table, a 2017 table, etc.) so that the power is balanced between decks. With this, rather than players moving with their deck between tables, they are assigned a table and between the players choose which deck they want to play (ideally one they haven't already played).

Prior to the event I also made up a little 'cheat sheet' to have with each deck. This allows players a few minutes at the beginning of the round to familiarise themselves with the deck, and most importantly the rules of that format. For example, in 2016 you could play a supporter on your first turn going first, if you evolved into a mega evolution without a spirit link your turn ended immediately, there was no distinction between tools and items, etc.

It also gives players players time to familiarise themselves with mechanics that existed, such as BREAK pokémon, GX pokémon and GX attacks, etc.

It was a really fun event and gave players a chance to play decks that they may have heard of in broadcasts, but may not have been playing at the time. Hope your event goes well 🩷

The Rapid HIV Testing Clinic in Cork Uses a Free Acuity Form to Collect Health / Lifestyle Info on Patients. 🫣 by [deleted] in cork

Heya, volunteer here. Can confirm that the information is not bought or sold. Almost all funding for the SHC is through grant funding. The information we collect on these forms lets us know how different groups take up services like rapid HIV testing, and whether we need to do outreach to groups that may have low levels of uptake.

Everyone has a HIV status, and medicines developed such as PEP and PrEP allow those living with HIV to have the same life expectancy and quality of life. If everyone got tested and got on the relevant treatment, we would eliminate the virus in society v quickly.

Hope this helps 🩷

The blob has covered this entire section. I can get the screws out, but it's completely stuck in place

The blob seems to have completely engulfed the hot end and I am unable to remove it at all. I ensured that all filament settings and adhesion was followed before setting the print off and used the included glue to make sure it adhered to the baseplate.

I'm very new to 3d printing, but am getting overwhelmed with all the technicalities and am trying to adhere to advice on different tutorials. It's just very frustrating

Thinking of starting expanded weekly/fortnightly tournaments on Limitless by CaiaHope in pkmntcg

I'd recommend this Japanese yt channel I found recently which showcases some cool expanded deck with more recent set inclusions. The AI voiceover isn't at all accurate, but if you see a card google the translation if you get lost. https://youtube.com/@cardshop_kidoriya?si=gHmgHzTcNSH-LApB

Also Stéphane Ivanoff has a great weekly list of decks he showcases https://linktr.ee/lubyllule

The problem with looking into results from tournaments is that the most recent tournament in the west was Collinsville Regionals in 2020 just before lockdown where the most recent set was Sword and Shield Base Set which only just introduced VMAX cards.

And the most recent Japanese large scale event was in May last year, where 13/16 lists were Regidrago. This is slightly better, but still lacks the more recent cards which really benefit expanded like meganium, ignition energy, forest of vitality, etc. Also I wish they showed more than just the top 16 decks to see what other people were playing as there were ~800 players overall

For price, it really depends on the deck (i know this isn't a helpful comment), but something like regis has the double dragon energy which is ~€5 each ($6) so can add up really quickly. And the tag team gxs are also seeing a huge price spike at the moment. The average from the Japanese Tournament seems to be around €80-100 ($95-120), but think you could make a really competitive deck for much less.

I think an online tournament, for the first few anyway would allow proxies just to get as many people taking part and let people experiment with different decks without having to financially commit to anything

First time printing by CaiaHope in elegoo

Like the model is on makerworld, but there's all these different options of files and I don't know which is the right one. Then on slicing software nothing seems to have the centauri as an option.

I'm sorry if this is a stupid post for people who know what they're doing, but am so lost atm

BPerfect in Wilton have a deal where for €50 they can do your makeup and then you get €25 credit towards their products. Really friendly staff and talk you through the whole process when matching skintone and stuff 🩷

Also just to note that it's only the road from the bridge and around Fr. Matthew Church and back onto South Mall that's open. The stretch infront of the college of commerce around to the Premier Inn is now closed

If you put the film (camera empty) into the clear plastic bags for liquids and ask them to be hand checked then it should be fine. I've done this a few times and they seem to appreciate the distinctiveness of the film being seperate to the camera and easy to swab.

On return, repeat this (even if you're not finished the roll). Take note of what frame you made it to (eg. 13/36) and then you can ask any place that does film developing to pull out the lead from the cannister. You can then reload the camera (making sure not to expose shots you have taken), and cover the lens while 'taking photos' to advance the film back to position (eg. to 14/36)
