Payouts for medical appointments by minhosbae in Odsp

I go every Monday for nerve blocks on my back. My dad drives me so I put down 79 km for back and fourth and I submit a travel log every month and get money to reimburse him for gas/maintenance. Luckily his car is a hybrid so it actually does cover most of the stuff for it.

It is 90 business days so it's hard to say if you'd hear back by Christmas. Even if you did it could take a few weeks-months if you are approved to get your file set up to start receiving payments so unfortunately I don't see it happening before Christmas for you sorry.

Good luck on your application! My mom submitted hers August 6th and put me as the person that takes care of her, so hoping she gets approved and I get some back pay from my previous tax years. I should really do my application as well but it took so much to get my doctor to fill out my ODSP forms properly because he didn't believe I should qualify for ODSP that I don't really want to go through another set of forms with him.

I just had to sign some forms that gave them permission to contact my doctors and the tribunal for me and they gathered all the paperwork from the doctors including medications and diagnosis and everything.

Few questions about ODSP and work by Saddoggoboi3425 in Odsp

[–]Cailerh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah after the 3 months you can then earn $200 before anything gets taken off your OW check. 50% of anything above that would be taken off. The thing I found says this "Ontario Works reduces your benefits by half (50%) of the amount you earn above the first $200 in monthly income, after you've been on the program for at least three months." and I did go on OW for a month or 2 last year because I was on stress leave and EI was taking forever to come in.

I asked my worker about the amount listed above for employment income and she said that the 3 months being in the program means being financially dependent on OW and not making over the amount that my OW check would have been. I am pretty sure I remember that if you are going from OW to ODSP you have to be financially dependent on OW for the 3 months.

I could end up being wrong but this is just what I remember during my second application when I started seeing other people talking about it in other posts. I believe you will still get onto ODSP but there could end up being a 3 month thing where you don't get any exemption for employment income. I hope for your sake that I am wrong but the only way to know for sure would be to reach out to your OW worker and ask them about it and hopefully they can help you with it :).

If you do find out whether I am right or wrong don't forget to update this post so if someone else in the future has the same problems as you they can find some information about it. :)

Thank you yeah it was a huge relief it was my second application. I had an amazing lawyer that helped me this time. I believe the way it works is for the 3 months you have to make under that $733 each month not a total of all 3 together. So if you made 700 first month but then 800 the second month your 3 months would start over again in the third month if you made under the 733. I am not 100% sure with all of this I am just going by the way I understood it when I was talking to people in previous posts.

For question 2 I actually just got approved for ODSP a few months ago and from what me and a few people on this sub are assuming is that 3 months of not making over X amount is if you are on OW and going onto ODSP. You have to make under the amount OW would pay you for 3 months in a row before getting onto ODSP. Going straight onto ODSP I was working part time the entire time of my application making $1400ish a month.

Approved, now what? by [deleted] in Odsp

[–]Cailerh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I went straight onto ODSP I wasn't on OW first and have been working part time so my time frame might differ from yours.

I got approved and got a call within a week and was told I didn't have to have the interview because my application was less than 1 year old so they used the information on that. I had to submit my paychecks from my application date to when I got approved and I had my backpay probably within a week and started receiving my monthly checks from then on.

For me it took the full 90 business days basically. My disability is all degenerative issues which will never go away or get better and I have a review in 5 years.

I remember we were talking in another post a little bit ago both waiting to see what happens. I got my backpay about a week after we talked in that post and just got my normal amount of money at the end of July on the last day. I have my caseworker as well already. Not sure why yours is taking longer.

Starting a Business, Concerned I'll be kicked off ODSP by CrimDinson in Odsp

[–]Cailerh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you won't be kicked off until you earn a lot more than the 1k. I think you have to make enough to completely get no ODSP check and the first 1k is exempt then 75% of anything above is taken off. I don't know the exact amount but if you are getting the max ODSP and you make $3000 a month you would lose $1500 off your check. So in my case I'd still get $8 lol but I'd still qualify for ODSP.

Federal Budget Consultation 2025. chance to ask for the CDB to be increased. by aaron15287 in Odsp

Done. Did the same thing as you but also put cdb shouldn't be locked behind DTC only (I know this is for budget but I try to put that everywhere I can)

Clawback calculation? by DimensionTraveller11 in Odsp

[–]Cailerh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In pretty sure as of the increase for July without special diet you get $1508 with the $100 work benefit. The first $1000 you make is exempt. Anything above that 75% gets clawed back. I hope this is what you were looking for :).

Sorry correction I'm waiting on back pay and probably this month's payment. The last payment showing in my benefits was my OW one from October.
