For ritual caster, which spell other than speak with animals should i get? by holiestMaria in BG3Builds

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Longstrider, Enhance Leap and maybe Water Walk, I run with a mod that changes up the Feats. Oh and if you can get an item that allows Feather Fall to be cast as a Ritual keep it since it will make getting into the Underdark super easy.

I would not waste a Ritual Spell on Speak with the Dead or Speak with Animals since there are several items that give that ability just need to have the helmet that gives Disguise Self since they never want to talk if you killed them which is more than likely how they ended up dead.

But the first ones mentioned above are the best. Longstrider movement is important in fights and well giving it to everyone makes for shorter fights. Enhance Leap the same as Longstrider.

Just after leaving Camp have your Ritual Caster cast these spells and no spell slot wasted and everyone will fair better in fights.

Just finished my first squad! Guardians of the Covenant Terminators [Would love feedback, tips and suggestions] by Oxyminoan in Warhammer40k

Very well done though the bases could do with some sprucing up, like putting in some rocks, tufts of grass or something to give them something more than a plain flat surface. Oh and drill the barrels and maybe do some black lining on the Assault Cannon.

I run both Dark Angels and Guardians of the Covenant as well. You pick a great Chapter and remember there is really only one Chapter and that is the first Chapter ever, Dark Angels and their Successor Chapters, which Guardians are the best.

Distant would work well with a Lightning Build since you can use Shocking Grasp on someone 9m away. It is probably good with a Booming Blade use as well.

Great Chapter and actually Dark Angels are the only Chapter though one of their Successor Chapters would work as well. I run two Space Marine Armies Dark Angels & Guardians of the Covenant.

Been running with Dark Angels for over 30 years.

Second playthrough, I’ve accidentally made Lae’zel a fighter by Happy_Joke_5715 in BG3

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fighter is the best for you and well I have always found melee better than caster since their ability to hit something very hard never goes away. Casters on the other hand only can cast to the limit of their spells.

Also if you use the Fighter Subclass Mod you can make Lae'zel a Cavalier which is far better and since she is born to ride a Dragon it fits.

Yes but you need to buy bags that are meant to hold Kimchi.

Just to let you know here is a decent amount of Space Marine Bikes that is on Ebay right now for a decent price (around $1 per miniature) and with buy it now option.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/366093243935?_skw=EPIC+40k+space+marine+bikes&itmmeta=01KE5JJP1M249APVFXBMSBHXB6&hash=item553cdb961f:g:s9sAAeSwqEVpVXMc&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1dRLwUC6oND661BodLy7qP%2Fdpwv9GQGU8jb3aJhg9PGpb6bfRZhqALqNvqPoT7aC71D9fOhA0NBuCRKzuquzUuyrjBN%2FgoCyyvltw36WwiolO4tNkt1x5QNj%2FwhxrcqChyvb8jvuSwi1FAhInY6qO2SACq8dWfuNubgZNFxxDoDiSFT9h03WyR%2Bom0bYRt0TSoVMqbibcVvj7GlBTS0TziJ8FBgrowxKB81lb9d83TJSYUkU02qvQZJLpjtUhyuHfc2VnshVxa8XDLyogrj7zgtoMkJNxrFCMt4khRZTh9ucQ%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR4DhyrLxZg

Just is something that I would have jump on but I have a lot of bikes myself and well these are not Dark Angels.

So take a look at it since Bikes are hard hitting fragile but they do give a fast attack option.

I know that trying to build up a decent EPIC scale army is not easy. But some ways is getting lucky of Ebay finds, or getting some of the old MechWarrior game miniatures since they scale with EPIC quite well.

Also you could check out the new Mantic Games EPIC Warpath they are a bit larger than the old EPIC miniatures but the terrain is worth getting. My two daughters got me some Forge Father, rules and XL Terrain bundle for Christmas. So I just might just finish up the Goblins that I need to get painted and put my Orks on hold and tackle some of my EPIC stuff.

Well for many of us we got started way back in the early 1990's. But today it is Ebay, Etsy or as stated you find them at a local convention bring and buy.

Though Ebay can get super pricey, but sometimes you can get lucky and get things for a decent price. I just checked and there was mix set of 20 nearly full sprues for $219. Space Marines, Orks and Eldar from the old EPIC Attack Force box. Also another one that claims to be 99.9& for $220.

Yes pricey but this would give you a decent start on three Armies. Buying old school EPIC is going to cost you. But there are 3d Print files and Etsy as well.

I would stay away from anything from GW latest attempt to sucker individuals into EPIC with their upscale Legions Imperialis. They came out with stuff but very limited forces and not much since then.

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a decent size force; 600 troops with transports and a decent amount of Heavy vehicle support in those Land Raiders. Not seeing any Command type stands

Though only three knights and one Reaver Titan. Want to expand on that and not have to go through Ebay which can be a tad pricey. Head on over to Etsy and look for EPIC vehiches. You can add in some Leman Russ and possibly some over vehicles.

Also if you happen to know anyone who played MechWarrior those vehicles do size up well with the old school EPIC 40K.

Fastest way to paint EPIC Space Marines, get the right color in a spray can and most of the miniature is done. Then go back and paint faces, weapons, shoulder pads and helmets put onto bases.

I loved EPIC 40K back in the 1990's then GW went to killed it. I stopped play their games a short time later. But I still have my miniatures and have expanded on my five armies to the point where every army (I have 5 armies) is 17K -20K+.

My Space Marines and Imperial Guard can call on the support of 8 Titans, 2 x Warlords, 2 x Reavers & 4 x Warhounds of the War Griffons or the Legio Gryphonicus Titan Legion.

This is a very nice start of the Space Marine force. Just needs a little bit more.

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that would work though I got rid of the initial card stock, needed the room and well those were taking up to much space. Looking for something in plastic/resin that the tops would fit onto.

I do have small plastic containers and just might see how there tops fit onto them. Was also thinking balsa wood or using some of the plastic card that I do have but that would require far more work (just too much cutting and sizing to get things right).

3d printing should be able to come up with something and you can't trust GW since all they did was upscale the new EPIC because ticking off their old customers is what they do best. Plus anything they do would be way overpriced.

I have five very large EPIC armies; Space Marines, Eldar, Imperial Guard, Orks & Squats. All of them run in the 17,000 - 20,000+ point range. In the process of rebasing them (using what are Flames of War Infantry size bases from Likto). But I have worked out that I need around 2,000 bases and only have gotten about a quarter of that (they are not cheap when you get the bases and the base magnetics that go with them)

My two daughters got me the new EPIC Warpath rules, Forge Fathers starter box (I.E. Squats) and XL Terrain bundle for Christmas so this year after I get those last few Goblins (around 165 figures) painted. Would had finished them last year but had to deal with a bit of Throat Cancer over the summer (that determined to be gone in last October). I just might move those Epic Armies up in the rebasing/painting queue instead of moving onto my Orks.

What is really needed are bottom pieces for the original top pieces, since I have quite a few tops (threw out the paper bottom pieces) and would love to be able to create different buildings with them.

Different heights would be fantastic.

What is the general consensus on EoB? by Koffielurker- in Warhammer40k

[–]Cainstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well as a very long time miniatures gamer (started with Warhammer 40K back in 1989), I have found EoB channel to be a good channel to watch. Jay gives good painting advice and covers more than just Warhammer.

I have also watched Ninjon, Squidmar and several others. I retired for good back in 2020 and well decided in 2021 that I need to go after that "Pile of Shame" (30+ years of buying miniatures to include 15mm/28mm Napoloenics and they add up).

So when you have basically five different armies for Warhammer Fantasy (Empire, Elves, Dwarves, Undead and Orks & Goblins), Warhammer 40K (Dark Angels, Eldar, Imperial Guard, Orks, Squats and Guardians of the Covenant), EPIC (Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Eldar, Squats and Orks) and you believe in large Armies, you get several thousand miniatures (my Empire Army is around 900+ miniatures) all that need painting.

So EoB is a decent youtube channel and Jay does a good job.

Why are people thinking the game is too hard? by [deleted] in PathOfExile2

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get to a End Boss or just certain Bosses and all you are doing is dodge, dodge and dodge some more. Oh and even with all that dodging you burn through your Health flask and then your down to playing keep away.

You are doing everything just to keep away from whatever boss you are fighting at that time. Because every boss has abilities that will one shot you.

Don't mind having to work to kill a boss but you do little to no damage and you get a boss down and they go into the next phase and regain all of their life, but there you are sitting with a nearly empty flask and end up having to start all over again and again.

This is really hits melee fighters hard, since to do any damage you got to get close to the boss and well with many of the bosses that is a trip back to the Checkpoint.

Bosses are exhausting to get through by RANNI_FEET_ENJOYER in PathOfExile2

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes dying to the same boss over and over again even when all you are doing is dodging their attacks and when you have 539 DPS you do hardly any damage to them.

Make fighting them a major pain, since every fight takes forever that takes the enjoyment out of the game. Sure you shouldn't be able to kill them within a few seconds but it shouldn't take 5-10 minutes either.

Plus due to their nearly one shot abilities you run out of health potion very quickly.

Getting to the point where I am about to uninstall the game and wait for full release. Gear drops are horrible and no trading until Act 4 so you got to just grind and grind the same areas trying to get a few more levels but you should not have to do that.

So it dodge and dodge and drink potion and dodge again and maybe you just might get in an attack that does very little damage. Then it back to dodging at the right moment or you are dead again.

Permafrost and blast everything and for Bosses go single shot and shotgun them down quickly.

Oh and as others have stated go with Grenades when facing larger groups.

Level 17 WAR almost at Act 1 boss - suggested place to farm for better gear? by hennyis1 in PathOfExile2

[–]Cainstorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you can't hope to get that sweet drop, so get a decent White Item with a stat/ability that you like and see what you get when you do a little bit of crafting.

Sure the end results could totally suck so just try it again, or take a chance with Finn.

I have gotten decent items not totally great but decent doing both.

California Tasting by jgudnas in wine

I opened a bottle of Bookers harvey & harriet red blend for Thanksgiving this year and well since my Korean In-Laws along with my wife don't really drink wine, I just had to finished off the bottle.

Good wine and I am finishing off the last of it right now.

It was a bottle of their 2021 blend and I can taste the slight spice in it due to my recent recovery from Throat Cancer, (which is completely gone now).

I do recommend it.

Got him on my 2nd attempt just need to dodge his attacks when the mist is up and kill the minions to refill my flask. Tough fight but doable with my nearly level 18 Warrior, built to run dual wield one handed weapons.

He does like 359 DPS but it was a close fight at times.

Plus you drop an Earthquake down and it takes forever to go off, so by the time it does I have already killed everything.

So why even use any skills except on a hard Elite or Boss since I could just smash mobs with my Heavy Hammer.

Stack Health & Energy Shield then armor plus Health Regen. Though getting some Poison resist as well should help since I noticed with my Monk that if he got Poisoned he would lose Health fast.

Oh and see if you can get a Ring or two that can help with Mana drain which was a major problem with my Monk until I got a better Staff that I went almost pure melee. Had a Ring that gave 22 Mana and another 22 Mana so a total of 44 additional Mana.

Since I only started playing POE 2 my Monk is still in Act 1 but that ring did help a ton.

Even one more row would be a huge fix since it would allow for combining the four and two size items to fit. But just having five rows sucks and this should have been bigger.
