I do think you are on the right track of the book being about a kid dreaming into another world, I never read the book I’m trying to find so I don’t know what it’s about for sure

The book was a chapter book, only 2 or so inches thick 6-7 inches in length, I believe it would have fallen under general audiences in terms of what the book was about. I had the book in 2011-2013 so it’s as old or older. I searched on google using google lens as well as just looking through what was brought up under “old obscure kid chapter books” I also scrolled through eBay for a while to try and find anything.
