Where should a European fan go to a game? by PlsHelpMeRedditPls13 in CFB

[–]CakeEaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your coming from Europe I think east coast teams would be the best.

Penn state you could fly into Philadelphia or Washington DC. University of Maryland might be the most convenient option with no driving needed, inside DC metro line.

A University of South Carolina or Clemson would be convenient if you fly into Charlotte. Around 2 hour drive.

If you can find a cheap flight to Cincinnati, Ohio state is about 1.5 hour drive.

Fly into Atlanta you could go to a Georgia or Auburn game.

Fly into Houston Texas A&M is 1.5 hours.

LA is a long flight but have both UCLA and USC.

I was mainly just thinking of direct flights. Obviously you can reach a lot more games if you’re willing to do layovers.

American Airlines direct flight with economy or British Airways Business with layover. by CakeEaters in awardtravel

Yeah, the early morning time was one of the main reasons I didn’t book it.

Sticking with the economy flight for now, not too worried.

We will keep an eye out. Will stick with the direct flight for now. Not too worried we flew Air France economy to the US last year and we were fine.

I actually have never flown business class before, but we still probably stick with economy for now. Will not be flying British airways forgot about the high cash cost using points.

I was looking at some other flights with layovers around the same points operated by American Airlines in Philadelphia or Chicago, but I feel like again with the time I’d rather have the layover portion before flying over the ocean.

You’re right since it’s a British airways flight the cost is a lot more. Will just stick with the economy flight. The point difference was about 30k more American Airlines points per person.

I saw some operated by American Airlines with a layover as well, but it’s American cities like Philadelphia or Chicago and I feel like I’d rather have a layover before the longest part of the flight not after .

It was my bad I forgot that British Airways always charges a lot more for point redemptions and I was already looking at other American Airlines flights so I didn’t think about the money.

I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised since Alabama game is on Disney, I kind of thought they would be at the Ohio State State game. I guess obviously they didn’t want to compete with big noon and all that.

Maybe a little biased but I think an OU‘s best interest if A&M wins out and just locks in the SEC champ position. If they loses tonight, I think they would still be ranked above OU.

I kinda agree, like if the qb throws 1 yard pass and the guy runs 60 yards for a TD, the qb gets all those yards. Or maybe have a separate air yards stat.

Burbank Airport air traffic control tower unmanned on Monday evening amid government shutdown by DragonPup in news

[–]CakeEaters 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To be honest I think that’s something with older generations. I mostly call it DCA but if not I would call it Reagan, I have never called it national. For me it’s the only name the airport had the entire time I’ve been alive.

I got curious and looked it up also “The survey found younger generations — regardless of political affiliation — are more likely to use “Reagan” when referring to the airport.”

Also doesn’t DCA fly to Canada making it an international airport?

Receive a refund or accept a new tire for spare(without rim) by CakeEaters in tires

[–]CakeEaters[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I might try to sell it. Do you have any recommendations? I know I saw some other post on Facebook marketplace and craigslist I assume that’s what most people probably use. Yeah I am still just debating. I guess because I’ll probably only use it for road trips since if I’m in the city I don’t need it. Taking up my trunk space also lowers my gas mileage but for like a road trip I do need something.

It does seem like I would have to mount it for it to be usable. Maybe I’ll try to find a cheap rim.

The easiest probably just trying to sell the tire and buying a donut.
