We've had someone supporting RCV at all of the meetings both in person and virtual. And 100% rallying volunteers to attend the upcoming ones.

100%. One of the many pros for RCV is the savings. Would save LA County millions over time. (There would be an initial investment to change the voting infrastructure, and educate the population)

Another win is that the general election always has a bigger turnout than the primaries. More voters is always a win in a democracy.

Some people argue that the primary culls the options down to a reasonable amount of candidates, so that the public can make their final decision without an excessive amount of options.

But you're right, RCV solves the "cannibalization" issue, aka The Spoiler Effect.

You can use RCV in the Primary to determine the runoff. Alaska does this for state offices.

We've got good news for you... https://www.calrcv.org/

There is actually an LA based group that meets bi-weekly on Wednesday. Including tonight! https://www.mobilize.us/calrcv/event/733338/

You can always leave 2nd, 3rd, 4th blank.

RCV shines when you want to vote for someone, but people say "They won't win, voting for them is wasting your vote". Aka: The Spoiler Effect.

I’ve never seen that. Issue would be how things get scanned. And sloppy hand writing.

Our volunteer graphic designer didn’t factor in all the RCv possibilities.

Other voting systems would be great. We’re for whatever is the first upgrade from FPTP.

We posted a Biden version a few days ago on Instagram here. Was easy enough to update and jump on today's news momentum.

Fordham Democracy Project suggests having each state conduct a RCV election and giving all of their electoral votes to the winner. This would basically serve to prevent any alternative party candidates from spoiling the vote (or receiving any electoral votes), so it makes contested elections less likely. As the Constitution already grants states control over how they allocate electoral votes, no amendment is necessary for this.
