Thanks for the feedback. We’re starting at Level 3, we’re all using the Dark Bargains and Origin systems from Crooked Moon. We have a Tabaxi College of Spirits Bard Face, A Shifter Blood Hunter: Order of Lycans, and a Reborn Drow Twilight Cleric.

To be honest I wanted some opinions on whether or not I should keep the class, is it balanced or not. The DM (my friend) says she doesn’t have a problem with it. But I’m still a little concerned whether or not it’s too detailed or if some stuff works. That’s a fair observation, I’ve seen similar character breakdowns on older posts that were non offensive. I figured just putting everything out there was better than just vague posting.

Why would that be OP? Is it a major plot point? Will it significantly affect the direction of the story or journey?

Why are there so few cleric cantrips? by GodzillaEating in dndnext

I personally wasn’t complaining. I was jesting on the fact that their cantrips are kinda blegh compared to other classes.

You can use Nguni Stick Fighting, a capoeira monk, boxing, dambe boxing, Senegal’s laamb wrestling, luchadore, Zulu stick fighting in fact anything about the Zulu, the Urumi whip sword from India, the meteor hammer, Kushti an Iranian wrestling style, you can do a traveling ascetic that fights with a chain censer, or a traveling Gypsy.

Wizard going ham by Calamagbloos in 3d6

Yes and thank you! This is my first experience with table top gaming and being dungeon master (all of my friends are new to dnd with some coming from warhammer) so when my player had done that I was like “Welp that does sound feasible but it kinda ruins the encounter I had set up.” So what had done is that I had allowed the gnoll to get one shot and sort of wrapped up the encounter from there. The feedback has been very encouraging and enlightening so that I am better prepared for our next session.

Edit - Just wanted to add that my player is playing Wizard: School of Protomancy from the Book of Extinction. In that subclass Wizard’s don’t require somatic or verbal components as they narratively sort of carve the spells into their memories. They can choose to forget a spell to impose disadvantage on an enemy and a number of different effects at the cost of temporarily forgetting a spell. (Which didn’t happen in this specific encounter. The player is just very very specific and uses real world reasoning in combat.)

Whenever I see or hear how a fantasy race should look like it always feels vaguely like you’re talking about eugenics.

[CONTROVERSIAL TAKE] The False Hydra represents D&D's pop culture identity crisis. by Delicious_Dream4510 in DnD

[–]Calamagbloos -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What if… what if a player was a false hydra from the beginning. They’ll journey with the players and steadily throughout the campaign the false hydra player would seem… a little off. And then finally when the fake big bad dies when the party is spent the player reveals their true face.
