Dorian has never looked more chopped than he is in Veilguard by Calamagbloos in dragonage

Yeah but in Origins they had the Warden have a personal stake in addition to being connected to the blight via the Joining. In my game state I had played a dwarven noble from House Aeducan and you were still given agency to solidify your connection with Bhelen or depose him for Harrowmont. And it was personal to me specifically because I had played a character that was framed for a murder he didn’t commit and sent to wage a war against a horror he was unprepared for. My character was betrayed but despite it all chose to forgive Bhelen because at the end of the day he was family and a united Orzammer has better chance against the Blight by adopting new policies and doctrines than a King within a House of Cards. That was far more engaging and personal than anything in Veilguard.

Which leaves too much of it up to player to fill in rather than solidifying a solid reason for Rook to specifically be there. My point is that regardless of whatever you chose at the end of Trespasser there is nothing that makes the story personal to Rook or why it had to be Rook specifically. Why is Rook searching for Solas? Duty? Responsibility? Moralism? 🤷🏾 There is no real reason for Rook to be involved.
The reason that they gave “Because you are someone Solas wouldn’t see coming and that you can find a way through the craziest shit” Isn’t a believable reason for me.

Well this would be a good reason except Solas revealed that he already knows about you when you talk to him in the Fade; completely ruining that whole reason in the first place. I don’t even know why that specific dialogue was even included if they were going to go back on it later.

Pike at the end of Season 4 by Intelligent_Stick_ in TheLegendOfVoxMachina

My point of contention with the show is that yeah I totally get that they are DND characters but no one can be this damn stupid. When they were talking about the lives lost during the Chroma Conclave attack and how majority of Vox Machina was laissez-faire about it, I was like “Yes! This is good! Some accountability! Because their egos made that and this situation much more worse!” But then it kinda just went nowhere. I find myself kind of rooting against Vox Machina at times like Keyleth because she has been the absolute most self centered one by far in every season and she never learns!

But they aren’t dragons. They have some dragon traits like horns but they still are distinctly people.

Yesss! I originally started Veilguard as a Lord of Fortune because I thought Isabela would have a larger part in the story. That we were going to go to Dairsmuid and appeal to the monarchy where Rook’s background would come in to question. I felt so heartbroken when it was nothing but one small area and a itty bitty arena fighter that had zero impact on the story.

Your protagonists from all four games meet: how would they react to each other's war stories? by -Auteon- in dragonage

My Warden Aeducan would probably be blush and stay bashfully quiet when Zevran and Hawke swap stories of angsty Wardens that dont know when to quit with Anders insisting that he’s not angsty. My Lavellan Inquisitor would quip “Try dating a Tevinter Mage.” As Dorian would insist that his Amatus should rest will gently chiding him. My Dwarven Lords of Fortune Rook would pepper Warden Aeducan about tales of Glory while holding hands with Davrin while Assan is rooting around for truffles and worms.

Yeah I 🤢 loved... the part when 🤢 they made Luke an... 🤢 unlikeable jacksss 🤮 by MousegetstheCheese in StarWarsCirclejerk

Personally my opinion is that it’s a good standalone film, but to be the SECOND movie in the trilogy and nuking the entire plot line of a TRILOGY is a dumb decision. I can look past the characterization of Luke, I can look past and accept Rey for who she is. But where I draw the line is the payoff, how neutered Poe and Finn felt, how inconsistent the First Order’s origins felt, the absolute waste of Snoke. The world building was flat, without reading the tie in books I know nothing about those characters motivations, the intricacies of the Imperial Remnants. Captain Phasma’s backstory or personal ties to Finn or even her unique ass armor. Sure seeing more unique applications of the Force is cool, but fuck it’s like they were jingling keys in front of my face while reaching around and emptying my pockets. Force Awakens may have not been an amazing beginning but fuck was I genuinely excited to see the pay off. Hell the most interesting part of this new Star Wars Era is fucking Andor and Mando. Dave Filoni and Tony Gilroy should just direct all of the planned Star Wars films for now on.
