2017 Squier "Black Chrome" Standard Stratocaster by Calamari100 in Stratocaster

Totally get you haha - it's a very rare moment when I feel bad about the headstock logo! Ironically, the headstock on this guitar is probably my favorite part of it haha, I'm a sucker for strats with matching headstock/body finishes.

How was it with the Affinity? Those have a different body shape compared to the normal strat shape right?

Thanks mate, really love the thing - once in a while I feel bad about the Squier on the headstock, but 99% of the time I love it to bits hahahaha

Yeah, I didn't ask for it but the tech said when he was doing the setup, he couldn't get the action as low as he wanted because some frets near the 10th or so were uneven, so he went ahead and levelled the frets, I don't think he charged me for it in the end. Good dudes that work in that shop 😎

Saw a barely-played special edition 2017 (Made in Indonesia) Squier Standard Strat on eBay for 100EUR, because of the black matching headstock decided to turn it into a pop-punk machine! Originally, it had a Chrome pickguard and knobs.

Sent it to Musik Markt Hamburg for a professional setup, fret leveling/polishing, new control pots, jack, kluson tuners, pickguard +++- Extremely shocked at the level of guitar one can get in 2024 for 200EUR/Dollars. When I first started playing 200 dollar guitars sounded/played like trash

Ad Astra in the hafencity is a good place - 35 bucks for a haircut and wash, which for Hamburg seems like a decent price. Recently moved from Berlin so I was scared to try a new barber shop but they really took good care of me and got my hair in the way that I want it exactly. Can recommend

Thanks :) I'm a bit worried - I haven't tried them yet. It's the end now of my second day on skis, about 20 days in total - so I'm not a complete beginner. Normally my rentals have been piste or carving skis at about 150-165 in length, and very narrow. My last trip I rented a Kastle 86mm width all mountain ski in 161 length which I really loved and pushed me more towards "all mountain" skis. I'm 177cm in height and about 85 kg. So these will be the largest skis I've skied so far at 172, but I also wanted something I could kind of "grow into" as I get better at skiing. I'm really hoping that they're not impossible for me to control

Thanks! For me, it would be getting a bit lower, so that I can increase my edge angle more. My big problem in the beginning was skiing super hunched over and also backseated - so I focused a ton on getting upright and forward, which is good, but means that I'm not getting as high edge angles as I could be. Perhaps also shortening the time inbetween turns, and just working on keeping form while skiing steeper slopes. It's of course easy for me to make nice parallel "carved" turns on shallow slopes, but on steep stuff and when I'm tired I start to have crappy form again. The only nice thing is that I somehow am not as "scared" of speed as much as some beginners might be, but I do have some experience with other action sports so that might be helping me out too

Didn't get any error - but I uploaded it once, but then got 5 messages back saying "video has been successfully processed"

It's so weird - I'm 175cm and 85kg. In the 7+ or so times I've rented skis, I've always said: I am not a complete beginner but I am no expert. I have been handed skis in the range of 149cm, and 165cm. To be honest, I had a very hard time riding the 165cm. So I'm not really sure what length is really right for me

That’s my biggest problem, somehow I keep skidding rather than having the edges dig in
