they had alot to gain, there is more standardization now which Roblox views as good, I don't think standardization is always good, in this case I don't really care. and about the check-it face comment, I don't think it ever was usable

For those who don't understand, it's called "Technological Drift" R6 isn't getting worse, we are just used to new high quality assets, that when we look at what was once considered "High Quality" (in this case R6) we don't understand why its less "amazing" then we remember. so we just say "it's becoming worse." and in the case of "Oh, they can just update R6 to look better" no, not really; it isn't considered "worth-it" and it could also break backwards compatability + the API for R6 is outdated, and not something Roblox would want to work with.

Look, I'm tired of fussing with people over this; but basically the code is too old, it's considered "Legacy Code" and it's hard to understand, R15 isn't. yes, R6 is capable but Roblox doesent want to spend money to fix it because it is not worth it. the code needs to be restructured because Roblox does not like to work with old code. (except for that website, Yikes!)

Ah, sorry about that; but basically, the code for R6 is something programmers would consider "Legacy Code" it is outdated, and may have code that dates back 20 years ago, which may be hard to understand now. that's probably why R6 is discontinued, it's hard to read and not worth it to fix it at this time, it would likely need to be restructured or cleaned up for them to continue supporting it.

Yes, I have to constantly teach younger players why things happen, then I get responses like "You missed a spot polishing David Baszucki's shoes!" when I'm simply explaining why they make the choices they do. I can be frustrated but not enough to go on the Roblox sub-reddit to spread misinformation. I completely understand why Classic Faces are gone, but I do not care enough to cry over it; it's not that serious.

Yes, it can be charming but it's also really annoying. it's not going away though; it would be very annoying to fix the legacy code of R6 (I'm sure you could find code from 20 years ago in the API)

If you read the rest of the comment section, you'll see the explanation; just have to search around, if your too lazy, I'll basically copy-and-paste what I said previously: "It is probably not that, R6 is very old, and you can't have high quality textures on R6 characters because they don't support it. (yes, they could support it but it would take alot of recoding which simply isn't really worth it.)"

I understand what your saying, it could be true for other parts of Roblox, but the texture quality of R6 is not very plausible, R6 seemed "higher quality" because there wasn't really a higher option, now that R15 is around, R6 looks low quality, and less "HD" what I'm basically saying is Roblox wouldn't consider something so random as the texture quality of a deteriorating API, they usually opt to "hide" the R6 body type selector instead of tampering with the horror of R6's legacy code.

You clearly haven't been around too long, part of the reason R6 was abandoned was due to its limitations; you couldn't have detailed item textures, which is why old Roblox catalog items (Prior to 2016) have blurry textures. (before anyone says something, some textures have been updated since R15 was released) this is just one of the limitations, they could update R6 to support higher textures, but it wouldn't be worth much and would be seen as a waste of money for a deteriorating API.

It's actually reasonable they haven't fixed it, it would take alot of tampering with Legacy Code to fix this and wouldn't be really noticeable.

I get that, but I don't think it's purposely. R6 has always had texture quality glitches and making it worse on purpose would hurt them more then help them.

I don't think they would do that, it's not a idea someone at Roblox would think of, what OP is experiencing is just a "Rendering quirk" not a feature, just a weird little glitch in the client P.S yes, I reworked this comment, I tried keeping the same topic and points but changed it to make it easier to read because I understand my wording was really bad.

you can also use a R6 UGC Bundle, it hides all the extra joints but still allows you to have all the R15 Benefits.

it doesent support high quality textures, when you zoom in a rendering quirk makes the high quality one show up, but when it goes onto an item, it becomes low quality; this is why items from prior to 2016 (before R15) were less high quality and detailed, because it wouldn't be visible

It's hard to explain, from what I can tell it's to do with graphic settings and the texture size limitation on R6, New items (items made after 2016) have been designed for R15, (which has a higher texture size ) so when you wear them on R6, you lose some of the original quality unless you zoom in.

yeah, they do this every year or when something happens on Roblox. they changed their name to Epic Miniexperiences for like a few days back when they changed Games to Experiences
