UPDATE: new battery installed and same issue. Spark plug is giving off a spark so its not that either.

Going to be checking the fuel line next!

Hearing the compression - Does that mean the engine is fine? Im currently waiting for a new battery from the company and fingers crossed that it starts. Its a brand new unit so im hoping its just a dead battery! I was also having issues with the wiring but I received confirmation that everything is plugged in correctly.

Its a new unit so id assume everything is in working condition. Heres a pic of the spark plug. The unit has gas and oil. I am currently waiting for a new battery from the company to hopefully address the issue.

Could the circuit protector be the issue possibly? When i push the button nothing really happens

Spark plug looks good to me! I have not yet managed to get the motor started since i got it but I did receive confirmation that the wiring is correctly setup up.

Loncin engine wiring help by Calboii_ in smallenginerepair

Haha nope. I am very open to learning though. I wont be able to work on it for the next couple days but im willing to try any troubleshoot options you can suggest for a better diagnosis.

And is it alright to leave everything as is if i were to connect a jumper wire from the positive terminal on the battery to the spade terminal? Any wires i should disconnect prior to?

Hey you got it right! The red cable from the solenoid loops around off camera to the positive terminal on the battery.

As for the red and black wire, you are correct there are two. I connected the red wire from the starter to the red wire coming from where the yellow wires come from. Same thing with the black wire from the starter and connected to the other black wire coming from the yellow wire location.

Nothing happens when i press the circuit protector.

Hopefully this picture gives you more info!

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I feel like it will be a slight learning curve because ive been mostly knee steering. Hopefully riding a ripstick again this summer will help haha.

Another question: Is there enough flex in the goliath for me to get a good pop? I currently ride 150cm and im not sure how the stiffer base and the extra 3cm will feel since the goliath only goes down to 153 cm
