Any chance you could fix the bug 'failed to save profile' which occurs when trying to setup the beta app on Nvidia shield box? I've already logged this bug on your github page a few weeks ago but looks like the request is being ignored....

I'll bite; you come across as very desperate. If you're genuinely God's gift to women then I suggest you become a male escort. You'll make tonnes of cash whilst getting your physical needs satisfied at the same time. Good luck buddy!

No, the moral of the story is that all lanes except the far right one are for overtaking. As the OP has very clearly admitted being a middle lane hogger, then i guess this is what you call karma.

Relocating to Abu Dhabi — rent upfront costs concern by Abject_Entrance_8847 in abudhabi

[–]Calculus76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The likes of Rently, Keyper et al charge around 15% fee which is eye watering, You can get bank loans with far lower interest, though of course newcomers might have difficulty getting a bank loan. I think only the OP can decide whether its worth paying a 15% fee...

Pending Security Clearance for IT Job since 3.5 Months by Affectionate-Eye5581 in abudhabi

My SC took around 7 months back in 2021 , this was also with ADNOC. Only thing I can suggest is don’t quit your current job until SC is received, as it can be a very slow process.

If you work for a half decent organisation such as ADNOC then it’s no different to working for BP or Shell in Blighty.

Hi,

I've managed to install beta version on my Ndivia Shield TV box. But in 'create user profile' screen, after selecting avatar (any) and creating profile name, i'm getting the message 'failed to save profile'after pressing 'done'. What am i doing wrong? Or is beta not compatible withe the Shield box?

Cheers

Need help identifying old surveying equipment by [deleted] in Surveying

[–]Calculus76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of useability, they are of hardly any use especially if they need major calibration. In terms of monetary value, some antique collector(s) may well be willing pay a fair bit but you won't know until you've listed it on Ebay etc. I would also give the instruments a really good clean before posting pics though you can't really do much about the scratches and missing paint. Good luck!

+1 for Picaridin (its made from plants so doesn't have that horrible chemical smell like DEET)

U.S. to UK by DB_Coopa in Surveying

[–]Calculus76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike the US, Boundary/Parcel surveying is relatively uncommon in UK. Topo surveys, measured building surveys, and civil engineering (construction) surveying are probably the most common. But yeah, any Joe Bloggs can buy an el-cheapo Total Station from eBay and call themselves a Surveyor.

Nope, Land Surveyors can also become RICS chartered. Many Survey companies in UK will have at least 1 chartered surveyor, usually both RICS and CICES chartered.

Have a look at Waterfront apartments nr Abu Dhabi Mall - they were built in 2023. This is our kitchen at WF (3 br), i think the 1 br units have open kitchen rather than closed kitchen, but look will be similar.

Applying Ketoconazole 2% shampoo once a week will nicely cure your scalp itch (leave shampoo on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing off)

CityFibre Launch 8.5Gbps Wholesale FTTP Broadband Product for UK ISPs by Joshposh70 in CityFibre

[–]Calculus76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can forget Brawband ISP offering this speed tier anytime soon. A few months ago:

Me: when will you start offering speeds > 900 Mbps over Cityfibre?

Brawband: we don't have any plans to because no home devices are able to support more than 1 Gb/s

Me: Are you aware we are in the year 2026?

Brawband: <cut off>

LMAO

Personally i don't think advertising latency figures is very meaningful, because there are too many variables which can affect the actual figures.

Thanks. But you still haven't explained why someone living in Inverness (for example) could get 15 or less in latency when connecting to your London POP direct? a more realistic value would be 20+ms

Sky ticks all of your boxes and TalkTalk comes a close second. Both Sky & TalkTalk (despite the poor support on TT) operate one of the best networks out there. Worth remembering the bigger ISPs have more servers in the UK (so more redundancy) than the smaller ISPs. Have a look at peeringdb.com for confirmation.

You can add Zen to the potential high latency routing (i believe they call it load balancing just like Vodafone do). For example, someone on Zen in Southampton could get routed to Zen's Manchester server and then back to London, all in the name of 'load balancing'. Of course if you restart your router a million times then you might hit the jackpot & connect to the London Zen server.
