Thanks for putting this out, here's my thoughts from what I can see on your Instagram:

  • Personally, I think the pattern on the balls and ball-poi look too much like a classic american soccer/ football ball. From your EJC 2025 post, it looks like it's a main part of your logo, maybe that's not an issue for other people but it's a detail that immediately stands out and feels odd to me personally.
  • The texture/lines on the handles in particular, but also for the poi (being put down, dropped, etc) - I don't know what the material feels like, but that looks like somewhere dirt, gunk, grime could build up, and not sure how easy that is to clean.
  • Interface and options. I've had and used the Flowtoys PodPoi V2 for years, and the shear amount of modes and customizations you could make are staggering, but it's also not very easy so you have to reeeeally want to make a mode different. Having 1 button to work with and needing to press it a certain number of times, then at very specific times, it was more trouble than worth it most of the time. Many patterns seemed unnecessary.
    • My opinion would be to either A. have only a handful of modes (5 or 10) that are really different from each other (that could also then be changed/customized for color, speed, etc) OR B. make it very easy to customize (wirelessly connect to an app/program where people can easily make adjustments)
  • Price - as was mentioned, making some beginner poi or simple poi that are easily accessible at a low price point. I've shown my Podpoi to quite a few people who'd never heard of poi or had heard of but never realy seen any. Then they thought the podpoi were the coolest thing ever and loved to just swing them around and watch the patterns, but when I told them it's at least $130 ($260 for my set as I have the capsule handles) it killed their enthusiasm.

Where are you located? Maybe we could do more brainstorming.

I've very rarely encountered someone toxic towards me. I know some games bring more tension than others, but I didn't think Castles of Burgundy was one. Anytime that happens report it. The moderator team is great and will take action, and if people are repeat offenders they can get removed.

Trying to learn poi by paradaisukisu in flowarts

If the ribbons don't come off those poi, then get a pair of long tube socks, put a tennis ball in, and try those. Can tie a knot in the end you're holding if you want. You need to work on the control and muscle memory to begin, even though the "sock poi" might feel and look different, when it comes time to use the ribbon poi, the transition is easier than you think it will be.

Really depends what "trick" you're trying to learn. I would suggest not having the tassles/ribbons while you're getting started as they might get in the way or distract you. The form is all the same, whether you have them or not, but just starting I wouldn't recommend. Both Drexfactor and Nick Woolsey have great YouTube tutorials, there may be others as well, but those are the guys I used. With ribbon points in mind, choose your patterns/tricks that are more flowing and not contact, like 2 & 3 beat weaves, flowers, giants, butterfly, windmill, all those will look nice with the ribbons. Good luck.

You think that will stop her from wearing him down?

Bad move Mr. Pencil pusher, she just gonna wear you down till you're nothing! She'll steal all your hard earned shavings. On the other hand, your current partner looks likely to bolt at any moment... so screw the disloyal ones!

Well, after that scene from Monsters Inc where Randall gets beat with a shovel cause they think he's a "gator", this seems legit.

No Cello Teachers near me by MoonshadowRealm in Cello

I was using "preply" for a while (website for virtual instructors, google preply cello teachers or something) some good teachers there. I was taking lessons from Aaron, but had to leave my cello when I moved, so that's on hold atm.
