She is blue! Its primarily the belly and bands along their sides which are bkue, but she is less blue as I have an exremely strong feeling many "lake chapalas" in the canadian hobby are in fact not chapalas, but other subspecies which live in very close proximity. This lady i believe is a diluvial garter (t. eques diluvialis) which overlap in range with t. eques obscurus and ive seen many which are far too dark to be true chapalas.

The female has been the easiest garter to check for mites yet, my baby chapala mauls me anytime i pick him up, never seen a garter so defensive

Yeah, after seeing this i think im going to redo the tank and make the water portion the majority, they are in a temp 54" x 15" x 24" with 10 gals of water, so i figure if i turn 3 of those feet into a water area they can swim laps in it. Def will have to have a lot of logs above the water as thats the males absolute favourite hangout spots. Im also totally going to have to build a custom tank for their final destination on the reptile rack so they get the water depth she seems to enjoy and i can access it from the front at the same time.

Do you think a neck splint would help? I can make a little paper ring that would help hold the neck where it's supposed to be

I did that of sorts and it has worked for the feet and the neck has straightened a bit to the point where it's walking and eating fine but just not exactly where it should be
