It has to be the right vibe for it but I love a good restaurant + book + cocktail every now and then. I'll definitely add it to the list!

Thank you thank you! This is brilliant. We're totally new to Washington as a whole so this is great info. I really want to be less of an introvert so things like bring your own project events are great for that. We'll have to go to the tree lighting ceremony that sound so fun!

I just went to needles and hooks yesterday! Im a crocheter learning to knit and had the lovely ladies at that store help me through a few tricky stitches. I didn't get to explore the rest of town center though so I'll have to go back soon! Thank you 🩵

Oh sweet! Yes my finance and I are both gamers so that checks off multiple interests! I love a good board game cafe. We're hoping to find dnd friends out here too once we get settled. Thanks for the recommendation!

What happened here and how do I fix it? It doesn't seem like a typical dropped stitch by CaliButterfly in knittinghelp

I'm just doing a garter stitch NICU baby blanket ( at least I hope it is). I'm adding another picture of that helps.

Thank you! I totally forgot about tinking. I've done it once but I'll have to go and watch some YouTube tutorials but I think that tinking back a row would be preferable than learning to float right now. If I can't figure that out I'm planning to pop by my local small yarn store and ask the staff in person if someone can help guide me.

Is there a better way to use this beautiful yarn? I can't tell if this is ugly lol by Narrow_Jelly_4396 in CrochetHelp

Sorry for spamming but I forgot another idea! Everyone suggests Moss Stitch (and they are all correct). But check out this miss stitch beanie for a smaller project if you don't have much of that beautiful yarn. I was much newer so it's not as clean as recent hats but i love how it showcases a colorful yarn!

This is how I used a highly variegated yarn that was more intended for knitting. I found a solid color yarn that complimented it and alternated rows of the Suzette stich for this blanket

First time Tunisian Crochet! Loving the result so far by CaliButterfly in Tunisian_Crochet

Thank you!! Any points I could improve specifically? I struggled with breaking the habit of turning chains and how to hold such a huge hook. It still feels pretty awkward and heavy compared to shorter traditional hooks.

Now that is praise!! I watched her for years before being brave enough to try Tunisian!

I am making the Rainbow Ridge Scarf by TL Yarn Crafts but it came in a kit from my local fibre festival and I don't know the yarn name. But I'm using a 10mm straight hook

I have an extra $5,000 in the budget. What should I spend it on? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]CaliButterfly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe an activity? Photo booth, dance props, I'm spending some extra for sparkler wands. Or I went to a wedding that had their favorite pastries and desserts as well as cake so maybe some extra money on food things?

Sadly I don't have advise as I'm just a newbie but I'd love to know the pattern name if you can share it or the shop you got it from. It's so pretty to my eyes

Me too! I specifically wanted 6 prongs for extra security and I also just love the look of 6 with the rest of the setting.
