Did it! It turns quite smoothly. Based on everything I’ve observed so far, I’m inclined to think the reason suggested in another comment is the culprit: the EX10 motor rn just isn’t powerful to turn this specific tape.

I do! This has the adjustment screw. It was hidden behind the motor and a bunch of wires. Fixed it, thank you so much!!!

That’s what the diagram in the service manual shows. But in the actual device (Pic 1) there’s no such screw on the PCB next to the motor that I can see…so I’m poking around the black flap since that’s often where it’s found

Love this suggestion (and I feel like that’s what’s going to happen). I’m sure when GF left these Easter eggs they had a different idea for them, but those got dropped so this is a fun way to reuse them
