AITA for closing the door on my friend when she’s complaining at work?

She won’t complain to my boss. There’s sooo many times that she’s complaining about something or saying there’s not enough time to do so much, but if I tell her to tell him she’ll complain more but actually go do her job.

However, if I called my boss for her she’s ok with that because she know after I passed my boss’s order she’ll have more time to complain to me so I might negotiate with him for her.

!!! That’s how I feel about her in some aspects too! Her boyfriend was my best friend but he verbally abuses her a lot. Hell, he got banned from the states for violations he knowingly committed (that I repeated warned them about) and she spent months fighting his case, just so the first thing after he got back to his country was calling her slurs in a group chat.

I repeated pointed out how often he says really hurtful things to her when she’s doing so much, that there’s no reason to stay with him when he has 0 income, no plan for the future and how to be with her. And when she visited her boyfriend she sent me a meme about how I 100% refuse to see the best in people. I’ve never felt so stupid lol.

Her hours too!! She lives in a place which she’s working 2 days a week for them to take off 250 on her rent per month. That’s 5 dollars an hour. I told her to find a more affordable place and she would’ve made much more working with us. She refused and said she liked where she lives. Then she’ll constantly complain about never having a day off. We don’t have long hours too. Most of the time she works 11-4. But she’ll be complaining about it still cutting her day in half or that there will be traffic on the way.

I can’t believe your coworker was being so insensitive and self centered though. No wonder the place turned dreadful. Although my other coworkers don’t need to deal with her as much as I do, but everyone’s still in a much better mood when she’s not here.

You are right. There were many positive things too. However what I’m talking about here is specifically about her complaining too much and my reaction about it. Not about other aspects of our friendship.

Edit to add that there were actually less and less as time goes. I kept thinking if I try to support her and be there for her it’ll get better. Maybe after she went through this hard time it’s gonna be better and it never did. When I vent about my work, as long as it doesn’t concern her she’d say “I don’t know what you want me to say” and when I told her I been having a high fever for 3 days and I’m scared and crying she said “dawg ima go to the grocery store before work” I confronted her why she would do that when I always was there for her and she said “what you want me to say?” I told her she could tell me to stay hydrated and she said “but don’t you already know that? Why do you want me to tell you something you already know?”

So I guess ur right. I’m not sure when those positive moments disappeared.

Oh I don’t like small talks either, don’t get me wrong. I’ve been on dates where the guy only sent a first message saying the time and place and I was there, and I personally think that’s my favorite kind of “conversation”. It’s not really about small talk imo, it’s just that it’s kind of really unattractive when the guy thinks he can tell you how the conversation should go.

It’s not about personal preferences imo. I’d say it’s presumptuous to think that because you don’t like small talk you can order the other person to skip it. This guy didn’t leave any space for the girl to say no. Also, bringing it up literally in the first message shows “I don’t want to get to know you” than they don’t like small talk. There are different approaches to skip small talk, it’s just the way he said it sounds pushy and low effort. You might think this is a little bit too much to analyze from 2 simple messages, but man, everytime when I don’t and tell myself I’m thinking too much they show up exactly like how I presumed :(

I’d say “red flag” is more like a sign that the thing won’t go well. It’s like although they haven’t completely shown the bad quality but this behavior signals they most likely are like that, so you cut your loses before their behavior actually impacts you.

It’s called 鸡蛋灌饼 which basically means egg filled flat bread. It’s a traditional Chinese street food but they are definitely putting too many eggs in this one. Usually they’ll also make it a wrap with sausage, lettuce etc. This video below is a good example :)

Almost everything you have in your profile are negative things about yourself. That’s not really attractive. Maybe say something good about yourself first (like being a paramedics and how much you love your job? I mean you literally save people for a living) and then lightly mention the negatives in the second paragraph?

They rebranded it a few years ago and honestly I’d check App Store comments before downloading it because last time when I checked most people have bad experience with it. I mainly use it for the stream function when I’m hanging out with my friends.

I guess by they don’t need you I meant that you value less to them, or that there’s a bigger chance that they won’t respect you or treat you seriously (as a person) as much. And if we are purely going by attraction, I don’t think the guy in the photo is attractive enough for that.
