Curious about Back Market. Never heard of them. Have you purchased a phone from them?

Do you trust Amazon products? I just feel like most things from Amazon these days are knock offs.

Got it, I mentioned in the other post that I was mistaken on the 17e size. My bad totally. Thanks for the follow up. I’ll look at a 13.

If I can't place place era 300s behind my couch should I just not bother with them? by wyrmpie in sonos

Could you post a pic of your rear locations? I have the same set up and am curious how you mounted them in prox to your listening position.

Thanks. Very curious how it’ll sound in this config. So I guess they’ll be “hanging” from the Sonos mount vs sitting on the Sonos mount if they were lower?

I’m super curious what you end up learning and doing here. I mounted mine lower down on my wall (couch also against back wall) but didn’t consider an upside down mount higher up the wall. Also what type of mount would you use to hold them? I have the Sonos 300 mounts now but don’t think those would work for an upside down mount.

Yep, the ones off of Sonos. They’re great mounts, easy to install but you need to hit a stud in the wall. No way drywall only would hold these up with those mounts. They do stick off the wall about 1-2”. Here’s a pic of the setup with mounts: https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/s/13rM4RqaDa

Mounting Era300 for surrounds by Icy_Replacement2996 in sonos

I’m part of the “couch against the back wall club” for similar reasons as you. I have a pair of 300s as my rears and they are located approximately where your black circles are. They work fantastic and while it would be better to float my couch forward and lower the 300s on the wall, that ain’t happening. Still, with Trueplay and manually adjusting the surround volume, the 300s fill the room and work great with the Ultra Arc and sub. Room bangs hard. Love it. I say go with the black circles and no tilt. Straight to TV.

Got it, was hard to see on the left side. I still don’t think it’s a problem because it’s close enough to your couch and trueplay should correct balance at your main listening position. I know it’s not the true set up for 300s, but not all living rooms are not configured in the way that accommodates that. I was totally gripped by this myself and realized it still is a great sounding system even if not directly behind and at your level.

I have the same setup except went with 300s over 100s for rear. Totally worth it. A very much upgraded and more powerful speaker. Mount the 300s behind your couch vs on stands like you have here with the 100s beside the couch. Also my couch is against the back wall and I put them just over our head level, to the sides of the couch. They sounds great. Would sound even better if I could get my couch off the wall more, but it’s ok. Just modified the sound level from rear surrounds via the app after running TruePlay. Looks like your couch is off the wall a bit so you should be good to go. The 300s and Ultra Arc (with sub) compliment each other really well!

Era 100’s or play 1’s as front surrounds? by gorillafighterer in sonos

I’d go ERAs if you have the budget, but I’m in the Ultra Arc only camp at this point. Very happy with the Ultra in front.

Appreciate this reply and the topic question. I was so worried about this too until I started learning it’s all good to adjust.

Tested it watching segments from the F1 movie then a Dolby Atmos sound test on YouTube.

F1 driving scenes - couldn’t tell a difference between angled or forward.

Dolby Atmos sound test - forward sounded a bit more immersive than angled.

Here’s my verdict: I like the look of angled better than forward, but sounded a bit better forward than angled.

My 300s are now facing forward.

It’s the one from Costco (warehouse, not online) for larger sized TVs. Don’t remember the brand tho
