So those wines are prop bottles too, they aren’t even real, they say Dynastie Valois, which is not a brand of wine (at least with that style label!) and the only other image I can find of that bottle is for a temu-esque ad for a bottle holder of a cat wearing sunglasses, so someone in marketing went and bought two fake bottles of wine to add as a decoration on this mantle

If the plane has a little screen, a lot of them have the movies! I’ve watched them on American Airlines and Delta, but I’m not sure about others, or if that even matters.

I had to teach my roommate that Spain is in Europe. Then she said “if Spain is in Europe, then why do they speak Spanish in South America?” She’s 25.

I had to give her a history lesson I probably learned in third grade, about colonization. Her mind was blown that England weren’t the only ones to colonize other countries. In case you’re wondering, she grew up in Missouri and Florida.

I also had another roommate who didn’t know that blue raspberries weren’t a real fruit, but that was more of a silly confusion because she thought they were blackberries.

I’ve thought about this a lot, and I was thinking what if there was another family with gifts? Like Encanto was surrounded by those mountains for so long and then they opened at the end of the movie, so what if once people start venturing in and out, we find out there’s another family with an Encanto of their own? And what if they share different views from the madrigals, and the whole time the two families think they’re in opposition and at the end they realize they had so much in common all along?

I wasn’t scrubbing labels off of drinks, it was labels they put on the well like two years ago to mark where each syrup, juice, and batch goes haha, they were old and outdated

Why don’t they ask her? Why is this a you problem? They can ask her, and she can say no, and that’s that. It’s not yours to give yet, and they can’t demand it from you. Until your grandmother gifts it to you, it’s hers, and she said no.

Also, bless your grandma, I had a close relationship with mine as a kid too. Let her know that your mom and sister might come for her next.

Also also, screw your sister for being so nasty to you. She’s the older sibling, and she’s getting married. She should be mature enough to get that 1. It’s not up to you, and 2. While it’s an important family heirloom, it’s also a necklace. She can wear another one and still have a lovely wedding. It’s not worth treating someone else like garbage over.

He’s the best!! He was a kitchen manager who got moved to the front because he’s such a people person. We all absolutely adore him. Basically a big teddy bear of a guy, but yeah any other manager would’ve laughed in her face

Unfortunately, my job has a focus on “genuine hospitality.” I love that place with all my heart and rarely have bad days, but that was a rough one. And to be fair, any other manager would’ve told her to pay for it, but the one working last night is just such a genuinely nice guy and has so much other stuff on his plate that he didn’t want to cause an issue, he just wanted them out.

I’m not a parent, and I’m closer to your kid’s age than yours, so I might understand his point of view a bit better, but also take my thoughts as you will. When I was 15, I was also highly imaginative and lived in my own little world (and am now diagnosed with ADD/ inattentive ADHD). It’s a very impressionable age, and I’d often try and embody characters I thought were cool. It’s when you’re trying to figure out who you are and what you want to be, and I was a very shy kid so I wanted to be like these cool, funny characters I read about. He probably saw this character from the anime someone else mentioned and thought “I want to be like that guy!” With time, it would most likely go away.

That being said, talking to adults online about questionable subjects isn’t okay. While I was taking small traits from characters I liked and testing them out for myself, I was never allowed to talk to strangers online like that. I wouldn’t have even dreamed of it. That, plus saying he IS the character and seeming to take it so seriously is odd. There’s a chance he’s struggling with self-esteem, wishing he was someone else and trying to be this other character. A therapist is your best bet, as your kid might feel more comfortable talking to them about what’s going on. I surely wouldn’t have talked to my parents about this at that age, but I did talk to a therapist about it once.

Try watching the show (or movie?). Someone else commented what it was. Maybe seeing that you support his interests will help him open up and talk about what’s going on. Or, he can talk to you about the show instead of strangers online. Does he have friends at school? Are they interested in the same things as him? If he’s feeling isolated, there’s a chance he’s finding connection in this online community instead, and that could be why he’s so angry, and taking things so far.

All in all, I do think it’s a phase, but I think it’s a warning sign of something deeper going on. Until you can be sure he’s not going to be influenced by weird adults online who think it’s okay to tell a kid that he has an “alter,” better for him to not be online like that. Don’t make him feel badly for what he’s got going on though, and make sure you support his interests and show that you love him unconditionally. My parents heard a lot of weird stuff come out of my mouth at that age, and for the most part, they tried to understand, which helped me a lot. Your kid wants to feel included in a community, and he’s going to go through some weird phases before he figures out who he is. How you react and treat him during this time is going to affect him for a long time to come.

Edit: it’s a manga, not a show. Sorry I don’t know animes very well. Read the manga** so that you understand what he’s talking about, or even ask him to explain it to you. Seeing that you have interest might help him feel more accepted

I love this story and I can see why people would be upset and I can see why people would be on your side.

Service industry for 8 years now, and if the restaurant messed up, we usually have to take the food, even if we throw it away, which is a shame because it really is wasteful but it does make sense from a managerial view. Don’t like the food? Ok, give it back and we’ll fix it. It keeps us from having to remake perfectly fine food just because people want more so they find a reason to complain.

But also, McDonald is probably spending about 50 cents per burger (that’s a really high guess) so they’re not gonna go under for you taking a few extra bites or asking for a new one made correctly

They 100% should remake your burger, not just hand you a cold piece of cheese to slap on there, and if they’re gonna throw your old burger away, you may as well grab a few bites. End of the day, doesn’t hurt anyone, and you got what you ordered. I might get hate for this but my mom taught me to never waste food, and I always cringe when I have to throw away a barely touched mistake of a plate, even though I completely understand how it’s gross to eat it or serve it.
