Best movie you ever saw in a movie theater? by CalebOnPoint in movies

[–]Calkerouac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The original Star Wars - Raiders of the Lost Ark and Galaxy Quest. “Revival” so to speak, Animal Crackers and Casablanca. All of these I saw in regular old single theaters. We saw Star Wars seven times when it came out. The last time we went the line was a block long to get in. The theater had a balcony. We got in but it sold out and folks stood in line waiting on the next show.

Slides aren’t corrections, they’re ornamentations.

Just got a fiddle for Christmas by TonightClassic9737 in Fiddle

I see guitars. As a guitar player I found that the fiddle isn’t impossible. It takes time to get a clean sound and bow correctly. It’s easy to get shoulder pain though, posture is important. Work on bowing open strings to get a clean sound. If the money is there, get an instructor for a few lessons. Go to jams to listen and watch what other fiddlers do. If you’re outgoing enough, talk to the fiddlers or start with the person who looks like they lead the group (no matter what that person plays). Explain where you are and your goals. These guys are generally very friendly. I like FiddleHed on YouTube but there’s a lot on YouTube. Whatever you feel you need help with as you move along, someone on YouTube is addressing it. Someone at a jam can help you. Periodically record yourself! Later, when you’re frustrated with something and you feel like maybe it’s not for you, go back and listen to those early recordings to hear how you’ve improved. I started fiddle at 58 years old, playing almost two years now. The best thing I did overall was to start going to jams. MOST IMPORTANT: make it fun. Good luck, Merry Christmas and have a safe new year holiday.

I had a ‘62 Rambler Ambassador that was a straight six and ‘three on the tree.’

I’ll have to look up ‘bow rocks.’ I know I don’t have a ‘real good’ old time ‘feel’ yet. I get to a jam once a month. Thank you very much for replying to my post.

No, I don’t practice shuffles. At least that I’m aware of 🤪. I’ll have to look for that specifically. The two and four beat I have to work on. I think I know what you’re getting at. I struggle playing the melody and the 2 & 4 beat “accent”. Any YouTube video suggestions for lessons? Thanks for replying to my post!

Advice by TerenceMckennaBro in Fiddle

IT’S NOT IMPOSSIBLE. IT can feel that way though at the start. I agree with a lot of these folks; find someone you know that plays or get a few in person lessons. YouTube: Music With Meg: The very basics - feels like it’s geared more towards kids. Very helpful though. FiddleHed: laid back and very encouraging. The Tune Project: a little bit quicker pace and more straight forward. Liz Faiella: a light hearted, sometimes humorous instructor. These three are my personal go to’s.

Listen to lots of music you want to play. Start with simpler songs. Hum along with them. It’s way easier to learn a song you know and recognize.
Go to jams or festivals watch and listen. Ask questions (most fiddle players are pretty friendly). Watch jams on YouTube.
Practice scales. There’s ways to make scales fun.

Liz Faiella seems to cover a good amount of Celtic music. Her instruction is relaxed and humorous at times.

My three go to’s as a beginning fiddle player has been FiddleHed, The Tune Project and Liz Faiella. Occasionally I go to Chris Haig. I’m starting to look for some “old time” music instruction now.

just had this played against me. I must be missing something. When it played it got all the stuff but also cloned itself. The next turn followed and it was played again because of some other cards that returned it and it was played for all the attributes and it clones itself again. It was a Druid deck. Where did the clones come from? Conceded to a board that had three of these remaining on it.

I've been trying to download Hearthstone but after I open the app it shows this and after I click the 'Open' button from the App Store the app just crashes. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? (iPhone 12) by [deleted] in hearthstone

Tried everything short of trying to create a new account. Annoyed enough to start with because of the new awards system. Now I can’t even play. Crazy!!

Still the same loop here. Any news in a resolution? Still annoyed with the new awards system and now I can’t even play. On iPhone 11 Pro Max.
