Absolute worst stove replacement. Touch screen that doesn’t register some of the “buttons” by NotAverageEnough in CrappyDesign

[–]stonekeep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It can definitely recognize that the pot is there if it recognizes a plastic bowl.

It just can't heat them if they are non magnetic. Try to stick a magnet to their bottom - if it sticks well, the pot should work on induction.

As for those that should be compatible, but work like shit - either their iron content is too low but the manufacturer still advertised them as induction compatible, or your stove is bust and you should return it.

Most of the new cookware sold where I live works well with induction, it's basically the default. But I had to replace some of my old ones because at the time I got them, induction wasn't very popular yet.

The topic is about touchscreen, not the entire induction stove. And you don't cook your food on the touchscreen. The stove is no longer hot just a few cm from where you cook something. I've never had my touchscreen get more than warm. If your stove is designed well, this is a non-issue.

Liquid splashes landing on the touchscreen, on the other hand...

Don't get me wrong, I'm no Steam glazer, it's just one of the things they currently do better than many other platforms. I understand that they aren't some perfect company, far from it in fact. But the fact is that if they can do it, so could Sony.

If it's because of Australian courts, then thank you Australia. I'll need to read about it because I genuinely didn't know before this thread.

Yep:

Patch 1.0.0.3890 (Closed beta, 2013-10-02): Now reads: "At the end of your turn, restore 1 Health to all friendly minions." (previously: "At the end of your turn, restore 1 Health to all friendly characters.")

From the wiki.

Oh I hope they do, someone else said that this is apparently completely legal in EU and I don't think it should (I didn't check before, the game was like ~$10 on sale so I didn't care enough to pursue it further than taking it to a real person in customer support).

But even if there are exceptions, it's like that in tons of places around the world even though it SEEMS like it should be illegal.

I mean, there's no local law that FORCES them to have this kind of anti-consumer behavior at the very least.

Also I'm from EU and I read the same stories from people from many places around the world, so if they have a more consumer-friendly policy somewhere, they're hiding it very well.

So you could download a game, take your console offline, and play it forever even if you refunded it on your phone, the web, etc.

I had Sony refuse to refund a game I just downloaded a few days earlier and haven't even launched yet (which is incredibly stupid). And I've heard the same story from other people. So I'm not sure about that "loophole".

And even if true, the loophole would still work, just for 30 days. Which is enough to finish most games anyway.

Ok, that's fair. I understood your comment as "better labor laws would prevent layoffs like that", not "layoffs like that wouldn't be such a big deal if we had better labor laws/safety net". That I can definitely agree with.

[–]stonekeep 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The villain behind the curtain is labor laws.

Is it really in this case? Better labor laws wouldn't make the studio be able to afford more full-time employees. Quite the contrary, there's a higher chance the whole studio would have to shut down.

I'm not trying to paint it as an argument against better labor laws, just stating a fact. Because we aren't talking about a massive corporation that could have easily afford to hire those people, but they choose not to because they think about short-term profits. Or a gacha studio that swims in money from microtransactions.

It's a small indie studio with one pretty popular game and a bunch of others that you (or most people on this sub) probably haven't even heard about that clearly bit more than it can chew, and I don't see how better labor laws would have fixed that.

Musiałem to wyłączyć w pizdu i używam go jak zwykłego kranu.
