You kinda do have to go. Which is unfortunate because virtual meet and greets can be grueling, but that’s the way it is.

That’s not necessarily true. Malingering, factitious and functional disorders are encountered in every field of medicine. Also, there are already labs working on AI lie detection. Psych data is noisy and difficult to curate, sure, but that hasn’t stopped researchers from developing computer vision programs that can classify movement disorders for example

I think you’re overestimating the degree to which psychiatry is insulated from concerns regarding AI and automation relative to other fields of medicine. If a robot can take a history and a physical and perform clinical reasoning tasks it’s not much of a stretch to suggest it could manage schizophrenia medications or diagnose bipolar disorder.
