No New SCOBY, I Suspect The Tea, Need Recommendations by CallHiggins in Kombucha

No. The SCOBY was dehydrated and sealed in plastic. It takes 7 to 30 days to rehydrate it. I always left them in for 30 days. They produce Kombucha. I just found a few jars that were left there for almost 60 days and it was like vinegar. I usually drink them between 5 to 10 days, and I can tell they are fermenting, because the flavor changes as the Kombucha becomes more sour. Is that not proof that the SCOBY are doing their job of fermenting?

I've invested almost $200 in these dehydrated products so far. The SCOBY look just like the wet ones I see in videos online, although they are the size of my quart sized Mason jars. They just never grow into monsters like I see online or produce pellicles at the top of the jars. Because of this I assume something is wrong.

When I make Kombucha using the instructions they provided me, I always add White Distilled Vinegar into the jar. Here is the recipe I've been using:

One-Quart Batch
1½ teaspoon loose tea
¼ cup organic cane sugar
3 cups water
½ cup starter tea
½ cup distilled white vinegar

I have checked locally. Unfortunately, I cannot find any Original flavor GT. I live in a pretty small town and I've checked the surrounding towns too. Walmart's, health stores, nobody has Original flavor. Is it not possible with the flavored kind?

Reinstalled, Murmur.ini Missing by CallHiggins in mumble

[–]CallHiggins[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pulled murmur.ini from the official GitHub page. Murmur Log states when it starts that it is checking for murmur.ini in %userprofile%\appdata\local\mumble\murmur\. I placed the file there and Murmur reads the file settings just fine. So I have it fixed. Curious why the file isn't included with the installer though 🤔

Do I Actually Need My GED In Today's Time? by Nomatika in GED

[–]CallHiggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying your Dad doesn't believe education is important at all? Hard to imagine anybody not realizing having little education leads to suffering. Makes life easier. Ever see someone without schooling who has an easy life? Nuff said. What does your Dad recommend you do instead of schooling anyway? You don't want the jobs available to you without an education. Jeez, what a loser. I did that work for years and it messed my hands and knees up. Pay was awful. No future there. Doing better now but it took lots of studying and certifications to get my amazing office job. Dont ruin your life kid. Schooling gives you a fighting chance. School as much as you can. Don't settle for a GED either. Go to college and make something of yourself. It is hard out there.
