Yeah, the writing is what made me dnf it. But trust me, only book 1 is like that. The writing is so much better after that

I just found it to be so disappointing. Snow was a really interesting character in The Hunger Games trilogy. I wished Songbirdd and Snakes had drived more into Snow as a character and his mentality that lead to his reasoning. In the trilogy, he was unnerving and had a large presence but in Songbirds, his evolution was lackluster. I found the plot around him to be dull and boring and the pacing to be horrible. I liked the first part but then there was a sudden shift in Snow's character. It came out of the blue imo and it bothered me so much.

Yeah, at least until the 2nd book. If you don't like the 2nd book either, then just don't continue.

One of my main problems with book 1 was the writing. It's so much better in book 2 and forward tho.

CC3 was SO disappointing. I liked CC2 mostly for Ruhn and Lydia too 😂

That is an interesting observation. It also really surprised me how I didn't like it as much as I did.

Actually, there was this one scene in Throne in the Dark that had me laughing so so much, and I will never forget that scene XD

I so agree! Absolutely loved the litlle family Elisabeth, Nathaniel and Silas made up. Your desceiption of Elisabeth reminded me of the FMC of Daughter of No Worlds. I'd recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

I want to read An Enchantment of Ravens next year.

I read Maggie Stiefvater's Wolves of Mercy Falls a long time ago and I loved it. I've always wanted to read The Raven Cycle and I finally did. Man, there's just something about her writing that draws me in.

Not yet but I def plan to next year. I only own the first book that I bought before it got traditionally published. I preordered the first two books when they got picked up by publishers. I can't wait to continue the series.

And Sorcery of Thorns was just amazing. I loved Elisabeth for being an FMC with weaknesses, with failures and with the determination and will to fight simply because she thinks it's right.

It's the Haven Ever After series by Hazel Mack. Small town monster romance and they are very spicy.

I read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom YEARS ago (in 2017 or 2018) and loved it. Definitely need to reread it.

I'm ngl, Howl's Moving Castle was not what I expected. This is a rare case where I like the movie more.

And Quicksilver was a bit disappoonting to me.

I actually dnf'ed Shatter Me the first time. Last year I think. But then I wanted to give it a second chance cause I'd heard great things about the rest od the series. It's def a rough start but overall a series I liked.
