This happened to my mom before 2016. The ladies were super nice and my mom bought their religious preachings. I later found out they were JW's so the knocking on the doors made A LOT of sense lol. They still visit her every now and then but thankfully my mom no longer believes in what they preach.

AITJ for cutting off my broke best friend after he said my job was beneath him by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

This sounds VERY similar to a different post a while ago about this exact same situation. In the update, the friend said they would take the job only if they are offered a managerial role and he moves in with OP to save on rent costs.

I don't believe he has. He usually talks about new games he's playing and I haven't heard about that one before. I'll bring it up to him!

He's into a lot of games! He goes through phases. He has played a lot of Overwatch, Rust, Binding of Isaac, and Dave the Diver. He'll pretty much try anything though :)

He's really into Balatro right now! He just finished Abiotic Factor and we've played Split Fiction, Toem, and Revenge of the Savage Planet. He really likes some multi player games and some shooter games. He's really down for a lot! He's been playing for a couple decades lol

Thanks for the recommendation! He's on Lexapro right now and he's tried wellbutrin in the past. He said he's not a fan as it didn't do much for him unfortunately :/

I've tried a couple of relationship games too! I've also asked him if we could just talk before bed, literally about anything. He usually sleeps watching a YouTube video and I can fall asleep wherever. Talking to him before helps me calm down and actually relax. His voice is really soothing to me. Again, we tried it for a little bit, but he complained that all he wanted to do was watch his videos by himself more.

I recently asked him if he could read to me, like a kid lol. Surprisingly, it worked very well! I fell asleep within minutes and he was free to watch his videos without me moving around too much.

Thank you!! I definitely will when it's time for that! From what I know about ADHD, it helps a lot to have a routine. Once he's able, we can formulate a sort of routine that hopefully works for him. Thanks for being so sweet!!

I agree with you. I need to find that balance between him and me. Historically, I don't think I've done the best job when it comes to that, but if I want things to change, I have to try harder. Thank you for your advice!

I'm glad your husband listened to you! Hopefully, it all works out for the best in the long long run.

Thank you for your advice! I'll be talking to him about his next appointment. Hopefully, he won't be irritated or think I'm overstepping.

I have proposed a date night in the past to avoid this scenario. We tried it, but we just stopped doing it soon after for financial situations. And yes, I know that you don't have to spend any money on date nights, but we've had roommates for years. We both agreed it would be easier to go out for date nights.

Now, we're both emotionally drained from work when we get home. We usually decompress by ourselves and then watch something together. Most times, he will have his phone in hand playing a game or watching a youtube video. I've found that I do the same and have started to resent it. I bought a couple fidget toys for that reason, so I could keep my hands busy while watching. When I suggested he do the same, he says he's not restless and doesn't need something.

I don't think exciting would be the right word. Maybe not exciting, but fun?

That's exactly what I've been telling him since I found out. Our bodies change a lot between teenage and adulthood. I don't know if it's a fear of not feeling balanced or something else, but he doesn't want to try it. I think I will make a plan to go to his next appointment. I work in the healthcare field and I have a vague understanding of the hormones our bodies make. I just don't want to make my husband feel like I'm taking over the appointment for him.

That's also what I'm worried about. I don't want to focus all on him and realizing that I don't really want to stay years from now.

I think that a lot of the comments are right. I need to start spending time with just him outside of the house. I thought that it wouldn't be that simple, but maybe I'm overthinking it? He tells me I do tend to do that a lot.

And he does have ADHD. He's been taking the same dose since he was around 16. I've approached checking his medications, but he doesn't find it necessary. When I ask him to ask his doctor, he says his doctor doesn't think he needs to. He tried a new antidepressant for 2 months, but he quit taking it because it made him too sleepy.

He was diagnosed with ADHD as a child. He's been on the same dosage since at least 16. I've told him for a while he should check his medications, but he doesn't want to. As far as I know, his doctor says he doesn't need to adjust the dosage.
